Good value

Have stayed at this property several times. Even with the change of name from Grand to Harrahs, the experience has always been positive. BH

Just "ok"

I booked at a casino hotel because they always have the most modern lavish style rooms. Ive stayed at other casino hotels in the area and the most basic rooms were still over the top. So having never stayed at Harrah's (foremerly Grand Casino) I gave it a try. Well I was really let down. The room was dated and the furnishings were well worn and old. The room had a stuffy odor like water damage. I felt like i was staying at a motel 6. The wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, and the soap and shampoo was labeled from "grAnd cAsino" which is what it was years ago then becoming just "the grand" i had to ask myself, "how old is that soap?" It was like the room hadnt been touched since the 90s. had to pay for slow wifi. This really ticked me off. Even mcdonalds offers free wifi. I know its not the casino aspect either because all other casino hotels offer free wifi. (The hard rock even has ethernet cable hookups for your laptop.) The tv only got 8 analog channels, they wanted to charge me 9.99 to watch a phil collins music video. And to top that off, it was 15 dollars a night to rent a fridge or microwave! These are standard items in your most basic motel 6 or best western! Just totally out of date and out of touch. Not what i expect from a casino hotel whose main purpose is to entertain. I know they want to make more money off their guests, but it made me mad more than anything that i was nickled and dimed for things that are expected staples to the modern traveler. Overall it was an ok hotel, and the staff was very nice. But i wont be staying here again until they get with the times.

Fall Get Away

We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms. We would liked to have taken advantage of the pool, but the weather did not permit it. We would certainly come back again.

oh my god

It started when I arrived. I got there early so I could relax and spend some time at the pool. I went to check in and received a "if you want to check in early it will cost you an extra $15.00. This has never happened to me before ( I have stayed at this hotel many times before). This put a damper on my entire stay and I will not stay there ever again. When discussing this matter with the head superviser she said there was nothing she could do and sent me to their awards window. Of course they could not help me and gave me a telephone no. to call. This must be their run-a-round method. I found out that they were able to check in people who worked their reservations through the hotel not an outside supplier. So be aware.
