Great fun and good food!
The employees of this casino and hotel were exceptional! At no time did any of them ignore me or act as if I were not important. The breakfast buffet was very good, especially with the Thursday over 50 BOGO. The only uncomfortable thing in the room was the pillows; they appeared very full but when you laid your head on them, the pillows sank to the mattress! We were always supplied with plenty of towels. I would recommend this casino/hotel to any of my friends and family.

GREAT DEAL
We've got nothing but good stuff to say about this hotel except that the vinyl shower curtain smelled like an ashtray even though we were in a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor.

Enjoyed our time
Everything was just great! Best "turkey & cheese" we ever tasted in the lobby pub! Wish we could have used the pool & spa, but there wasn't enough time.

Disappointment/frustration
We signed up for a room with 2 beds, "pet-friendly" and smoking. After booking through you, we called the hotel (as your e-mail suggested) and verified our room would have the above features. When checking in, we were told there weren't any "pet-friendly" rooms available with two beds or that were smoking. Needless to say, we were very unhappy with this experience!

The Grand was not so Grand
It is an older hotel that has very limited convenience items. We got desserts from the quick service restaurant that were not edible and had to be thrown away and noticed the second day that the same exact cakes and desserts were still sitting there for sale. The casino is pretty tiny, the lobby area is combined with the quick service and burger restaurant and that all fits in about a 20 by 30 space with an 9' ceiling. You can smoke anywhere except inside the nonsmoking rooms and the filtration system in the tiny casino was so bad that we walked in and walked right back out since we are both non-smokers. The staff couldn't have been nicer at any level from parking attendants to lobby personnel. The room was showing its age with cracked sheet rock and no exhaust fans in the bathrooms. The beds and sheets were really nice and clean. I doubt we would stay there again with the Hard Rock and Beau Rivage right down the street. Whatever added room expense there might be is well worth it at a newer place with better food choices and a larger casino.

There is a great outlet center called Gulfport Outlet Stores that is very nice with lots of name brand outlet stores including an actual Bath and Body outlet which I've never seen at another outlet mall.

PAPER THIN
the room was very luxurious and staff were very nice, But the walls were paper thin that you could hear normal conversations in the hall and next room, I guess they ran out of money and pieced milled it together after katrina. you have to be very careful watching the tv, it is very easy to order 12$ a day inet or ppv movies. the bed was very comfy but the feather pillows were hard to get used too.Blue Oyster Cult and Foghat rocked the stage at hard rock casino!!
