Great Staff

The hotel was clean and the staff always took to time to ask if there was anything we needed. The lady at the breakfast bar handed out pins to acknowledge that we were there to see our son in the Army. I'd definitely stay again when we go back.

Moldy Room

My husband and I stayed in Room 100 last Tuesday through Saturday, September 14-18. When we arrived, we both loved the "Bass Pro Shop" feel and were tickled to have found a room, when the other half of our party had to stay in St James, 30 miles away. [...]. Upon entering our room, there was a strong, musty smell….we figured maybe it had been a few days since the room had been used. Then, during a storm Tuesday night, the dripping started…from the top of the window sill to the bottom, into the air conditioner and onto the floor. I woke up Wednesday morning with a scratchy throat and a feeling like was having an allergic reaction. When we returned to our room Wednesday evening, the musty/moldy odor was overwhelming and we asked the girl on duty at the front desk to come down and take a look at the bubbling paint, water on the sill, wet floor and the powerful smell. She agreed and said that she would have the maintenance man come take a look, she put a towel across the bottom of the sill and brought in a dehumidifier. Then we noticed that all of our bar soap, shampoo and conditioner had been taken and no replacements left…so I went back to the front desk. When I returned to my room, I then noticed that wet towels had been taken…and none had been replaced. From 8:00 pm Wednesday evening to 6:30 am on Thursday morning, the dehumidifier pulled off two gallons of water out of the air. We emptied the bucket before we left. When we arrived Thursday evening, the rest of our towels had been taken…and not been replaced, not even the floor mat. The coffee packets had also not been replaced and we could not tell that anyone had been in to look at the window, since the same towel was there and the dehumidifier was still going. We did get more towels. Friday, when we returned late in the evening, our towels and coffee had been replaced, but that was only after we told the breakfast lady that we were less then pleased with our stay. However, I must compliment you on the lovely lady who greeted us each morning for breakfast. She and her helpers were pleasant, helpful and even gave us little ribbons that she had made…the soldiers at the Fort loved them. We enjoyed the banana waffles, fresh fruit and hot tea.We paid $472 for four nights and I was so disappointed. I know you were full, but I cannot believe that we were the first to have noticed the mold and that is simply not healthy to anyone. The top news story two days during our sale was bed bugs, which did not make us rest any easier…but I am now back at work and still have a sore throat and am taking allergy medicine, which I feel is directly attributed to the mold in our room. I hope this email inspires you to fix the problem before it makes someone else sick.
