let the MOONRISE

From the valet to the front desk, all the staff was wonderful, friendly and very helpful. You could not get a better location, especially when seeing a concert - there are 3 venues in walking distance to this GREAT hotel. In fact, I don't think there's any other hotel in that little area, which was full of good food and fun. The rooms were fantastic as were the bathrooms! Super clean, comfy, and chic. I would recommend this to adults who enjoy a getaway or hipsters looking for a fun night.

Moonrise Hotel

We love staying at this hotel because it is right next door to The Pageant, which is a great venue for concerts. The hotel staff is always very nice and accommodating. The hotel has a restaurant down by the lobby, but better yet it has a great rooftop bar!! The rooms can be a little pricey if you don't find a deal, but they run specials often. And the surrounding area is full of bars and restaurants which is an extra added bonus!

Neat Hotel near Wash U.

Stayed at the Moonrise while visiting the a University. Convenient both to campus and the Metrolink light rail, the Moonrise is funky enough to make it interesting while still providing a nice room that is nicely appointed. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Should have been great if breakfast was included, but we had a good breakfast and coffee at the Meshuggah Cafe down the street.

Good location, comfortable rooms

Well-located with lots of nightlife and restaurants within walking distance. Charming, quirky comfortable rooms. Attractive open air rooftop lounge. Very poor food service and quality. Room service breakfast arrived lukewarm, and with no silverware. Berries in the breakfast fruit salad were literally moldy. Wow! How does that get out of the kitchen. Would stay there again, if the price was right. Wouldn't eat there under any circumstances, any meal.

You are only as good as your employees....

My one night stay on March 12, 2014 began on a positive note but one experience places this hotel at the bottom of my list for future visits to St. Louis. The hotel staff that checked me in was very professional, efficient and attentive. The overall look and feel of the hotel was both welcoming and clean. I felt extremely safe in the hotel because you needed to use your access card to use the elevator to get to your room. The rooms were very neat with modern furniture. My only compliant (which would definitely be a deal breaker) is the rudeness, unprofessionalism, loudness of the custodial staff on the 5th floor. The woman was EXTREMELY loud AND argumentative. She used profanity several times all while we were still trying to sleep. Clearly, she needs training about common courtesies and professionalism. I run a buisness and definitely would not tolerate that type of behavior from someone that represents my buisness! For that reason alone I will NEVER stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend this hotel! Although, I would not stay at the hotel again, my experience did end on a good note. As I was checking out to get a printed receipt, the young lady that worked the desk was extremely helpful and pleasant.

Good Value

The hotel is nice and a good value. Rooms are comfortable. Location is a bit sketchy, on the boarder of a rough part of town and a new up and coming area. Lots of restaurant choices in walking distance. Rating would be 3 1/2 stars if the system allowed.

Night life hotel

This is a modern looking hotel. Seems many musicians stay at the hotel. We heard a guitarist rehearsing in his room one afternoon for some gig he had that night. This was a nice treat. This hotel may be prone to more night time social/party type activity in rooms… so bring ear plugs if needed.
