We stayed at the Moonrise for a one-night stay on May 5. We were able to walk the incredibly interesting neighborhood and keep our eyes peeled for interesting things thanks to the staff at the hotel. They were incredibly friendly and helpful. In addition, the rooftop bar was fantastically fun. And free parking? You can't beat that! It was a great stay.

Mixed feelings
The Moonrise is a nice hotel. Clean, friendly and inviting. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The gym is small and limited. There is a universal weight lifting machine, several treadmills and elliptical machines. The rooftop bar is great fun and has nice views. The eclipse restaurant has a good breakfast and fine service. The decore of the entire property is fun and trendy. CONS: the hotel is very noisy. The walls are thin and the windows do not insulate you from all of the constant street noise and music comming from the pagent on concert nights. Another big concern is the gangs of teens that defend on the Delmar Loop in the evenings. Screaming, cursing, pushing and acting out. There wer police everywhere on the street to maintain order. We witnessed 3 arrests walking back to the hotel. Definitely a bad situation to find yourself in the middle of (ESP if you are with your children).

Nice stay
Stayed for 4 nights including a weekend. Really have no complaints. Great location on delmar loop. Close to the pageant and other attractions like Forest Park. Hotel room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom is nice but there's no bathtub, which really wasn't a problem for us. Our room overlooked the front entrance, which was ok during the week, but the area was busy and loud on the weekend due to the increased traffic. Free parking is available as mentioned on the website, but was often full at night when returning to the hotel so it was easier to just valet park. Had a meal at the restaurant Eclipse, it was very good as well but was expensive.

I'd Go Back
I loved the location because it was away from the city and within a fun part of town - the loop. It's close to Wash U and the "famous" spots like Blueberry Hill. The rooms we were in (one King suite and one King room) were spacious and we loved the decor. The only major complaint was the staff/security - asking us twice to keep it down (just based off of them walking by thinking we were loud - we weren't that loud and we had a stairwell on one side and an empty room on the other); nobody actually complained (they admitted to this). They told us if they had to stop by again we'd get "evicted." I also heard of another group that received similar harsh treatment from staff that was not warranted. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

We found a last-minute deal (2 weeks prior) that allowed us to book a King suite room for the same price as our previously booked regular King room. It was an amazing deal. Just keep eyes peeled for last minute deals like these.

Great night's stay
Overall, this was a great night's stay for our anniversary. There was a minor hickup with room service, but it was cleared up very quickly and efficiently. Good location, decor and atmosphere were very modern, and bed was very comfy. Will definitely visit this hotel again.

What a great Hotel!
This was probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at for the price. It was very well appointed, clean, updated, friendly staff, and great food from the resturant on-site. I even used the gym (which I rarely do) and it was all new and working properly. I would recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay near the center of it all but not quite DT.

Surrounded by good food and entertainment
The staff was very courteous and professional. The valet service was A+ also. Bar and restaurant has excellent food and drink and a cool art deco vibe. There is a bowling alley less than a minute down the way and a entertainment venue also right next door. I think its in a great location right in the St Louis loop. Would definitely stay there again.

Excellent facility!!
This is really a neat place. When my wife mentioned it was our 30th wedding anniversary they upgraded us to one of their specialty suites (for no extra charge) and gave us a "coupon" for two free drinks at their bar. The room was fantastic. We ate at the Eclipse restaurant and the food was excellent. The service at the desk, bar and restaurant were all fantastic.

Great location!
This is a very cool hotel, a step above a Sheraton, in the very cool Delmar Loop. The "moon" theme was a lot of fun, the room was clean, the bed very comfortable. This hotel appears to have been converted from something less ambitious, so the rooms are not breathtaking, but very nice. I have read complaints about the noise when people are staying in order to attend a concert at the Pageant next door, but we had no such problems. Support the Delmar Loop and the effort of the owner to make this unique and cool!
