Nice Hotel

Hotel was nice but NOT dog friendly which makes traveling difficult for families with pets! Food of course was expensive in the hotel but had free meals for kids which made up for the difference.

Not impressed

My husband and I were in town for one night for a Cardinals game and visit to the zoo. We arrived at the hotel late on Friday and left early Saturday. The location of the hotel is very nice. It was a bit of a drive from our activities, but it is very peaceful and quite and safe. The waterway and plush trees were very nice scenery, especially since this was the view from our room. The lobby was very nice and upscale. The folks at the front desk and concierge were very friendly and nice. Checking in and out was very quick and simple. Now to our room... the most important aspect... where we spent all our time... yet the least impressive. We were in one of the "newly remodeled rooms". That's a bit of an exaggeration - newly redecorated is more appropriate. The room was a decent size. The bed was comfortable... very soft. We had a good sized flat screen tv. It was obvious there had been recent upgrades to the furniture, carpet, and wallpaper in the main area. The bathroom, on the other hand, seemed to have received very minimal attention in their "remodel". The door didn't seem to fit the doorjam properly. We had to push quite hard to get it shut all the way and open it. The grout was dirty. We only had two towels. There was less than half a roll of toilet paper on the spindle and no spares in the room. A hair dryer was listed as one of the room ammenities, yet we didn't have one. The drain stopper in the sink was not connected and the sink was plugged so we couldn't use the sink. We had to brush our teeth and wash our hands and faces in the tub. We had to wait about ten minutes for the water to heat up for a shower. Our room was directly across from the housekeeping station. There was constant commotion and noise in the hallway well after 10:00 pm and as early as 5:00 am. Overall, this hotel is just average. Bottom line, I would not stay here again. I would advise anyone considering this hotel to keep looking. You could get the same quality for a significantly lower price.

:o) and :o(

:o)---Our stay at the St. Louis Marriott West was very enjoyable. We got a good rate through [...]. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and accommodating, and our room was gorgeous! Our room and bathroom were tastefully decorated and completely spotless. I have never slept on a more comfortable bed in my life! :o(---We stayed at several different hotels on this trip and this was by far the fanciest. It was also the most expensive room we stayed in. You would think that when you're paying a higher room price that all the bells and whistles would be included. However, we paid $9.95 for 24 hours of wireless internet and there was no breakfast included. My request for them to comp us on the internet was denied. In the future, we'll sacrifice a bit of "fancy" for a similar room with free internet and free breakfast. Our room at the Best Western cost less, was also spotless and comfortable and included free internet and a free full breakfast.

Sleepless in St. Louis

Hard Rock Hotel

The hotel was clean, our rooms well stocked with toiletries, and they had a friendly staff. It was located in a decent part of St. Louis. However, our king bed was very hard, and so were the pillows. It was very quiet in our room, but I couldn't get to sleep on that hard bed. Even the chair and ottoman were hard as a rock. It annoyed me that all the lamps and/or shades were crooked too. The TV had lousy stations. You could watch the news, sports, or how to fix up a house. If you wanted to watch something decent, you had to pay for it. The breakfast was the highlight of this stay. We didn't get a chance to use the pool. We only spent one night here.

Have breakfast at the hotel. Their breakfast buffet was very good. Make sure you get a coupon when you check in at the front desk to save money.

Great setting, but......

Only had 2 towels in room when reservation for 3 persons, brought dirty towels when asked for add'l. Small, noisy children in halls at 1:30 yet when returning after a late Cardinals game. Parents fault, not hotel. Roll away bed totally inadequate for an adult. Thought Marriott better than that!
