Fun times in St. Louis at average hotel

We were greeted by friendly staff at the desk in the lobby. Upon arrival into room, not all that clean and the toilet did not flush. Maintenance man came up and fixed problem but left a "splashy" mess in the bathroom. Overall, a fine stay and an okay hotel. We liked going outside and seeing the St Louis Cardinals sign on Busch Stadium on the simple walk to the ballpark. St. Louis was great but I guess I just expected a little more from the Sheraton.

Sheraton St. Louis

Ok, the food at the hotel was awful! It was expensive and tasted bad. We hated it. Except for 1 staff person, the desk staff was mean and conceited. The cleaning staff was friendly and attentive. I left them a tip. The garage staff was friendly and helpful. The room had broken furniture and the carpet was dirty. It did not look like the advertised rooms. The shower had mold. The location was excellent! It was in the downtown district and had easy access to a great deal of local sites and attractions. I will likely not stay at another sheraton hotel.

Good times

Good location if traveling to Downtown/Arch, Baseball, other attractions downtown. Taking the Downtown Trolley was helpful plus the Metro. Choice of Restaurants were not as close for us since we were walking with young kids.

They had the greatest staff.

Alarms went off at 12:30am, because of the storms the staff handled the issue very well.

Nice & clean,soft beds, jucuzzi tubs :-)

Big rooms and nice green option. Enjoy $5 discount card and very friendly and knowledgable staff. Rooms are done in luxury and make you feel great. Easy to get to public transportation. Parking costs $$$ but your vehicle is secure, well worth the costs.

Disappointed in St Louis!

We arrived around 1 PM and we where told that it was too early to check in... We where fine with that and off we went to meet other relatives. When we returned ... We where tired and wanted to go to bed. They did NOT have the room I reserved with 2 beds and my daughter had to sleep on the pull put sofa! I paid alot and was very disappointed with the tiny room... Not a suite and no 2 queen beds. It's just not right. [...] The next day I asked again and they changed our room. Theyacted like I was a pain and bothering them. The manager in my opium should not work in customer service. The new room was nice. But it was an ordeal and unsettling. I will never return to that Sheraton!

Great Location, Pleasant Stay

Unbeatable location, literally across the street from the Civic Center stop on the St. Louis Metro 'subway' system (with connections to points east and west, including Lambert Airport Terminals 1 & 2). Laclede's Landing (bars, music, nightlife, museums) and the Arch is two stops away on the Metro, or a 15-minute walk. 7-11 convenience store is within walking distance (about 7 blocks) from the hotel. Hotel is impressive-looking from the outside, with nice murals; lobby is warm, inviting and cozy. Front-of-house staff very helpful and friendly. The bar/restaurant serves fresh quality food at elevated prices with big portions. Room decor is simple yet elegant. The standard room I stayed in was humongous, the king-size bed was luxurious. The 'view' from my room was the hotel's inner "atrium", with filtered natural lighting, so it was hard to tell what the weather outside actually was from my window. The fitness center was impressive, with a full rack of free weights, at least six cardio machines and about eight circuit units, more than enough for a decent fix for any gym rat on the road. Pool was large and warm and the whirlpool looked inviting, although the very strong chlorine smell was off-putting. All in all, a nice stay. The only disappointments: in-room internet access was not complimentary (around $11 bucks for a day), parking is not free on premises and breakfast was not included in my room rate.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Union Station, a huge enclosed shopping mall built inside an old train station, is located a short walk away (about 10 mins.) or one stop on the Metro.

Not at all what I expected!

Let me just start off by saying I read some poor reviews on this hotel and wish I would have believed them. To start off I just want to say we are a middle class family that does not get a chance to do stuff like this very often. So, it was a "treat" to get to stay in a "nice" hotel. Here are just a few examples: No free Wi-Fi (unless you go to the lobby), $17 to park overnight (self parking- $24 valet), $20 for 2 eggs and toast, packed elevators, you can hear every noise the people above you make, They put a $120 hold on our credit card even tho the room was already paid for and got pissy when asked about it. Overall it was a terrible stay. We wish we had gone with our instincts and stayed in a Best Western and drove into town and parked on the street and walked where we wanted to go.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

You have to go to Maggie O'Briens pub. It was awesome!! We started out walking but decided to drive. They have free valet parking so no need to worry about where to park.
