Great Weekend Stay

We stayed at Pear Tree Inn Union Station to visit City Museum, go to the hot air balloon festival, and visit the zoo. The location was excellent, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room was comfortable and clean. The free hot breakfast was a great way to start the day, and the parking was covered and required a pass code to enter, which made me feel very at ease about leaving our car parked. Overall it was a great stay.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Go to City Museum. It's a mile away from the hotel, but it is seriously one of the coolest places I've ever been.

Good hotel

The hotel is nice and clean with nice rooms, but the bathroom is a bit small. They do have a nice beer and wine reception at night and breakfast is fine. There is a shuttle to the Cardinals games for $2 which is a good deal. Free parking is also nice. Overall, a good place to stay, close to downtown.

Family vacation

Hotel is perfect location. Staff was very friendly. Had snacks and beverages everynight sitting by the indoor pool/hot-tub. Beds were comfortable. Parking is included in hotel price. Bathroom was clean and updated, but a little small. Overall a great hotel. Would stay there again!!

Pride Weekend

Great location, perfect hotel for all the key St Louis downtown events. Staff and amenities were great. Snacks and sodas available most of the day. Busy hotel, so only downside was lots of kids, noisy hallways as a result and elevator wait times were annoying.

A very good stay, with one problem

I would rate this hotel an 8 out of 10. Think one notch above a Holiday Inn. The lobby and many of the rooms have been renovated and look high quality. The staff is excellent and very friendly/ accomodating (possibly the best I have encountered in all my travels). The breakfast is pretty good. Free internet. Extra electrical outlets in the rooms. Big screen TV. Great shower, comfortable bed and bedding. A small but well placed business center near the front entrance. Pool, exercise room, laundry facility on site. About 2 miles from the arch, which isn't too bad if you like walking (which I do). Free covered parking, which is always a huge plus in my book. There is only one issue that this hotel has which isn't a deterrent but something to be aware of. Despite the wonderful cosmetic renovations to the hotel, there is one thing that did not change: the basic structure of the place. The walls are quite thin, which wasn't so great for me because I am a light sleeper. Be prepared to hear conversations in the hallways if someone decides to be loud at 2 a.m. You will also be able to hear hair dryers in the rooms around you as people prepare for their day. I would certainly stay here again. But next time I will bring my white noise machine to insure a truly sound sleep.

Go to the Botannical Garden. Inexpensive, beautiful, takes about 3 hours to go through the entire thing. They have a children's garden, so its fun for them too. Take bottled water. Use sunscreen.
