Small and OK
The rooms are small but fine for spending little time in other than sleeping. Flat screen TV was fine. Bath again small maybe 5 'X 9'. Staff was friendly but often unable to help. Housekeeping missed the room one of the days we stayed. Staff was only able to give us towels as we returned late. If saving money is the main goal, this hotel is fine with a great location. If you have the money another location might be the right choice.

Go to Drury instead
Place is horrible. They double charged us and still waiting on a return call. Rooms are old and out of date. No fridge. The bed and furniture smell. The rooms look nothing like the pictures online. There is no parking. We paid $32 for parking at a garage 2 blocks away. We would have been better off staying at the Drury Inn 3 blocks away, which has parking, free breakfast and dinner, newer more updated rooms that are clean.

Very nice for the money
The toilet had a problem and kept kicking on to fill up the tank about every 20 minutes. (very loud and annoying). Other than that, this was a super value and a great location for the things we wanted to do and see.

Very sneeky about Pool being out of service
Hotel is nice. At current time the rooftop Pool is out of service due to storm damage. The hotel just does not list the pool under amenities. That is there way to justify and not lower the price if you book a room. If you plan to stay there to swim choose another. They would not take any off the room rate OBTZ however offered a $50. discount on any future booking.

great place to stay if you are going to card's......
I had read many of the reveiws, I would agree with what I read. Night staff poor to worse. Did want to help when you had question. one was sleeping in chair, the other was to busy on HIS cell to help anyone. If you are there for card's game, great prlce but if not run don't walk away! Loud and drunk people in hall all night. Oh, don't asked for a cab at front desk. They called and a man form the hotel came down. It was a illegal cab (no meter), when ask how much he stated $15. Used real cab on the way back only $11.50. plus drove like a mad man. Very rude when I didn't tip and I told him why.

Small Elevators
Loved everything about the hotel for sleeping and location. Beautifully appointed. Food options were disappointing. One annoying thing that can't be fixed is the elevators. Old hotel small elevators = long waits for the lobby. Especially when people are coming or going. Wouls definitely stay again.

Great location!
The hotel's location is perfect. Low cost & near anything STL has to offer. The staff seems to lack some quality service skills. But you can over look that if you don't need them. Parking was $16 overnight. half a block. Not bad. We took our bikes so we got to see a lot of the city with only walking to Busch Stadium for the game. The room has a modern/historic theme. It's neat and simple. We really liked it.

Poor Choice with so many other options available
This hotel suffers from being close to a multitude of better quality, newer hotels, but does nothing to try to make up the difference. The stay is expensive, even with any discount. The staff is not unfriendly, but just absolutely do not care. Most of the time is spent waiting in the lobby for the only 2 working elevators. The cafe/food vending area is not open on weekends, the supposed pool is just "not open". Maybe OK for people that want to sneak in 4 cases of beer and stay 8-10 to a room, but I cannot recommend it to anyone looking to stay for any other reason.

Mayfair in St. Louis
Stay here only if you are desperate! I thought the historical aspect of the hotel would overcome any minor discrepancies. This could not be further from the truth. Sadly, the historical aspects of this hotel have been covered over poorly by paint. I am sure President Truman and Carey Grant would be apalled. My room was filthy - I cannot stress this enough - and when I was is St. Louis it was over 100 degrees every day and the hallway's throughout the hotel felt as though they were not air-conditioned. Likewise, the temperature of my room was in the low 80's, even though the thermostat was set at the coldest setting. I considered calling the front desk and gave up after the tenth time. I could have stayed at the hotel next door for a total of 28 more dollars per night and had a nice cold room, valet parking and a coffe shop / cafe in the lobby.
