wonderful weekend getaway

our stay was wonderful! This is our second time staying here and we highly recommend it. The only thing i did not like is the fact that i am a smoker. If you are going to make your hotel non-smoking that is fine, but you really should let people know that before they book the room, not when they show up! The extra cookie they gave us at check in did kinda make up for that though!

Great hotel, reasonable price!

My family and I stayed here in Nov 2011 and the staff was friendly and helpful. Check in/check out was smooth and fast-- just the way I like it when I have a 5-year-old waiting. The cookie at check in was great for the kid. We got what I thought was a reasonable rate for a two queen room. The room itself was clean and had enough space for the family (no funny odors, weird stains, nor dirty sheets--- I have had at other hotels--gross!) My major complaint is the road to the hotel is under construction currently and so getting into/out of the hotel parking lot was a bit challenging.

A Gem!

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and it's our hotel of choice when going to St. Louis. We always try to book here first. The Beds are awesome, the decor is nice, it's just overall well kept. The pool might have had a touch too much chlorine, but I guess it's better too much than not enough. Also, the location is very hard to find. You can see it from the highway, but you can't get there from the highway. GPS is a must to find this place. We would definitely recommend it.

Great hotel for the price!

We normally stay at Staybridge Suites, La Quintas, or Holiday Inns. We got this place for a great deal when we bundled with a rental car, and couldn't have been happier. They greet you with warm cookies at check in, which is a nice treat when you've worked all day, gotten on a plane, flew to St. Louis, rented a car, and get to the hotel at 9PM. The staff here is also very nice and professional. The hotel is updated, and modern. The pool is also very nice, and warm. The bed had to be the best part of the place. It was hands down the most comfy bed I've ever slept in. My girlfriend was even looking at the brand of the sheets, mattress, pillow, etc so she could buy them for home. It was that good. Here are some things that might annoy some people, but we didn't find a problem- Like previous posts had said, there is construction around the hotel, with streets closed (Not the hotel's fault). I didn't plan ahead for this like I should have, but we still found the place. When we arrived, the toilet was constantly flushing, and we had to call maintenance. They fixed it within 15 minutes. Our room faced the freeway, so you heard some freeway noise. We slept right through it, but some people might have an issue with this. We had a maid one day that didn't seem to give a rip about cleaning the room. Didn't replace the cups, replace the coffee, etc, etc. Like I said, these things weren't issues for us. We'll stay here again in a heartbeat. It's not far from downtown (maybe 30 min?), and is in a very nice, safe, and quiet area.

Baseball Getaway

With the Cubs vs Cardinals on our "Bucket List", we decided this would be a perfect weekend getaway. We took the train (also on the "List") from Chicago to St. Louis. Although the hotel was farther away from the train depot and downtown activities than we would have liked, it was a short easy trip on a well marked expressway system. The staff at the hotel was great, especially Ginger in the lobby's lounge and Linda in their restaurant. The hotel even gives you warm chocolate chip cookies when you check in! Our room was just about perfect - one small light was out in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. A large desk and work area with complimentary wi-fi added to our experience there. The hotel's entire decor is bright, modern and definitely upscale. Unfortunately, we didn't get to relax in the pool or hot tub but it was a beautiful, well maintained area. With both the Cardinals and The Rams at home for games, our out-of-town jerseys drew a lot of friendly, good natured comments from both the local fans and the hotel staff. We travel a lot and this trip absolutely rates in our top 3.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Park you car and walk around downtown to the attractions - it's easier and better for you. In St. Louis (besides the Arch) you should check out Union Station - interesting shops, restaurants and a really neat railroad museum with a collection of railroad and personal memorabilia from the 1904 Worlds Fair through to today. A bit out of town to the west is The Butterfly House. Well worth the $6 admission. Over 2000 "flying flowers" are free to flutter around in a manmade rain forest that you walk through. The butterflies will land wherever they want to - even on you! The last weekend in September is "The Taste Of St. Louis". Food, food and more food. One word describes this best - WOW.

Granddaughter school shopping

Conveniently located to the St. Louis Mills Mall. Room was clean although air conditioner would not turn off but staff came that night to try to fix it but needed maintenance to fix it. They offered to switch us but we decided if they could unplug it and fix it tomorrow we would stay in that room. The next day, it was fixed. Would stay there again. As my granddaughter said, "We will have to stay here again. This is a nice hotel." Now that is coming from a smart 8 year old.

In town for U2 concert

We went down to St. Louis for the weekend, primarily for the U2 concert but also to visit the National Park sites in the area. We probably waited too long to get a hotel, and had to settle for one out in the burbs. This was a very nice hotel, and conveniently located by I-270. It seemed like a very busy weekend at the hotel with what appeared to be baseball teams and family reunions. My only complaint is that there were often long lines and long waits to get an elevator. There are only three elevators and they seemed kind of slow to begin with, but when you add all the people they really back up. Everything else was good though.
