Good location
The staff was very friendly. The location of the hotel was conveniant for getting off and on the freeway. The room was clean but cold on entry. The biggest thing we noticed was that in the morning the hotel did not offer any coffee or juice. This was very surprising to us. We didn't even notice any vending machines.Parking was a bit inconveniant also. It was under the hotel. You had to enter about a half a block down the street and then work your way back towards the hotel parking area.

Delivers exactly what it advertises!
Our view of 'the Arch' and our access to EVERYTHING was perfect for walking, the MetroLine, nice eateries and fun exploration. Had we received complimentary ear plugs the first night, rather than the third, sleeping would have been easier. The heat or air exchange system was confusing but not too uncomfortable - sometimes we had cold air blowing on us and other times, hot air. Check out details were a bit different as the desk told us one thing one time and as we left we were told no need to do anything as we had paid and booked in advance through Orbitz. Over-all, the location and space was perfect for our week in St. Louis, including our team winning the Women's Final Four!

Just right
Staff was as nice as could be and the room and view were just right. The bed was great and room service prompt and friendly. The high-speed internet worked but is limited to the spacious work desk (bring an extended ehernet cable and you can switch out the plug).

My review of Crowne Plaza Hotel ST. LOUIS - DOWNTOWN
The Crown Plaza was nice; however, the valet and front desk was not as efficient as other hotels that I have stayed in the area. The room had a wonderful view; but the bathroom was tiny and the shower was less than adequate.

2 Queens with sleep sofa
The room was very spacious, one of the reason I would return. There was a frig in the room too. It was great for weekend stay. Valet parking a little slow just needed more valets.

hotel night staff is unfriendly
The night security staff is unfriendly. After making only a small amount of noise returning to my room for the evening I was cornered and harrassed. This caused me to send a formal complaint to hotel management.

Blah at best
The Crowne Plaze was really nothing to write home about. The hotel was dated and the rooms were rather dingy (I say rooms because I had to change my room as the first one I received was not properly cleaned). It's proximity to Lacades Landing and the Gateway Arch give it some appeal, but you'll be spending $10 each way on cab fare if you want to visit any part of town with a semblance of night life.

Family Getaway
The Crown Plaza seemed to be an older hotel, but well kept and we were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very convenient to Lacledes Landing. We ate at Jake's Steaks which was wonderful, walked to the Arch, then rode the Metro to Union Station for shopping. The Metro also stopped at the ballpark but the Cardinal's were not in town. Also went to "The Hill" for Italian food at Zia's. Had a great visit! We would stay here again and want to come back when the Cardinal's are playing.
