We loved the walk to the St. Louis Arch. The view from the room was spectacular! The full moon by the Arch was awesome!

Thin Walls

We chose to stay here because it's close to Busch Stadium. However, I would have rather stayed farther away to be more comfortable and get a good nights sleep. Could hear everything that went on in the room next to us at night, listened to an entire episode of Seinfeld coming from our neighbors room which kept us awake and could hear them getting ready in the morning...so much for a relaxing time in St. Louis.

Close to the Arch

Very convenient to both the Metrolink (45 minutes from the airport) and five minutes to the Arch and restaurants. Great location.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Just a few blocks to the Metrolink means if you want to explore downtown St. Louis, you don't need a car from the airport. Safe, easy and discounts for Seniors make Metrolink the way to go.

Good stay.

Nice place to stay. Smoky lobby but that may be the same everywhere given St. Louis hasn't made all facilities non-smoking inside. Free internet station next to reception desk with a free printer as well.

okay

Staff was polite and professional. Location was beautiful. Offered complimentary happy hour on top floor with wonderful views. However, lobby smelled of cigars/cigarettes and toilet paper was very rough/cheap.

Mega Arch from my Mimi Hotel Comfort

I was very pleased to find that my room was up on one of the upper-most floors with the best unobstructed view of the St. Louis Arch... but that balances with the fact that it was, per the posted emergency exit map, the SMALLEST nook of a room on the entire floor. I would liked to have had a convenience lobby alcove to purchase snacks or a beverage instead of walking 5 blocks to a grocery. In general, the staff seemed too busy to engage me with a greeting or in conversation unless I made the first contact even though there were hardly any guests. The Cleaning Lady was accomodating by replacing my healthy thirst for the coffee packets on a daily basis.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The Culinar Grocery Store located downtown was a great and friendly resource for hot and ready food, fresh produce, vast wine and large beer selection and ready for my instant need to purchase batteries and a bottle opener. NOTE: Make sure you check to see if your room has a fridge...mine did not. OH YEAH, the hotel was ONLY a 4 block walk from the Metro-Link train...$2.25 one way from the airport beats the one-way $23 shuttle or $33 Taxi rides.

Pluses & Minuses

Exterior tells the story: old, tired, needs renovating, but located in a grand space next to the Arch. Staff was friendly and very helpful--though they said they don't run shuttle service downtown, they were willing to take us to the museum. Rooms huge--biggest non-suite I've ever seen. Includes sofabed, two queens, kitchenette with refrigerator, sink and microwave (ours didn't have one, but neighbors did). Carpets, paint, towels, elevators--everything needs to be replaced. Doors were cracked with gap big enough to peek under. Lights were burned out. Some towels had big ugly stains. You get the picture.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Stadium, convention center, Arch....everything within 10 minute walk. Do not eat at the waterfront (especially Drunken Fish)--tourist rip off area, prices high.
