Expensive for what you received
Our trip included visiting family so the property did at least meet our needs for the couple of nights we stayed. However, the property was old and overpriced. There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room and the bathroom door stop was positioned so that the bathroom door wouldn't even open all the way unless you went completely into the bathroom and then closed the door. The "so called" continental breakfast only consisted of three kinds of dry cereal, a couple different types of bread, apples, oranges, and milk, orange and apple juice. Comparing this property to ones we stayed at previously, this property as far less superior.

needs a good cleaning!
I was there visiting my son who attends Truman State University. The room smelled so bad and I'm not hard to please so that should tell you just how bad it smelled. And the hotel itself is in bad need of some updating.

KIDS!
Good enough place, but for the second time in a year our reservation got magically switched from a non-smoking room to a smoking room and the staff tried to blame it on us...(we're pretty good with computers...) Otherwise, a decent bare-bones hotel. Good breakfast value on Saturdays and Sundays, and an unusable pool and hot-tub. Unusable because there are always about 30 kids swimming (and peeing, presumably) in it. We're pretty sure that the staff just lets community members swim there and enjoy the pool for free, but that's small-town USA, ya know?

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Kirksville is a surprisingly good value for dining. There are what, 10,000 people in the town and nothing else for 50 miles in any direction, but the restaurant selection is great. Go EARLY or late, where ever you go. Evidently the locals don't make any meals in their own homes. :)

Great Staff!
Only stayed for one night, but the girl at the front desk was very helpful! We had some leftovers from a meal earlier in our travel to the hotel and she took it to the kitchen to warm it up for us! Also, we left a phone charger in our room and they found it and sent it back to us. Room was clean, and so was the rest of the hotel.

Facilities are adequate. The hotel is old and definitely needs some updating but a good value for the money.

nice little place
Good staff, nice inexpensive full breakfast buffet available. My ladyfriend and I were very comfortable and able to get quite a bit of work done in the main lobby/pool/restaurant area of the hotel. The middle-aged gentleman working at the front desk was extremely helpful and pleasant. He is obviously very professional, and VERY good at his job. The rest of the staff is just about the same. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is the parking lot...lord almighty, it's like driving on the moon! Be careful and watch for potholes when you pull in.

Just ask the man at the front desk who works in the morning. Kirksville has a surprising number of high-value restaurants and he had ample suggestions right down to menu choices. :)

Very satisfied
This was a return trip for me, but [...] after reading some of the negative reports that appeared on your website, I almost didn't book, as I hadn't been there for quite awhile and I thought maybe it had gone down hill, but I was glad I had made the decision to return. I feel that the room was very clean and I always look forward to the hot tub and I found everything to be very satisfactory.

Great rooms for the price
I was traveling with my grandsons to visit their aunt at Truman for my oldest grandsons birthday. We got to our rooms later than we wanted to and the boys were getting crabby. So we dropped off our luggage and grabbed some dinner. We had planned on taking the boys swimming that nite as a added treat and they were counting on it. We got to the pool about an hour before it closed, the hotel staff let us stay and swim as long as we wanted to. My grandsons sleep in extra late the next morning and we almost missed breakfast. There was plenty of hot food available and again they let us take our time and made sure we had everything we needed. Never did we feel rushed or pushed. The staff made my grandson's 6th birthday very special! Thand You Days Inn

Pleasant
Just stayed one night for a business trip. The room was fine, however, the remote did not work for the TV.
