Great Stay!
Read the reviews, and some were negative, so we were concerned. Still, we booked a night and were very happy. Free cocktails at happy hour and complimentary breakfast with omelette/ waffle station. Located in a great district, we found plenty of places to eat nearby, and good shopping. KC is not a very walkable city, but the Q is located convenient to all of the local neighborhoods by car. Our room was good sized for the 2 of us, and clean. The decor for the whole hotel was fresh and modern and up to date. Staff was GREAT!

Easter Weekend 2013
I love the Q hotel! My husband & I stayed here once before and loved it then, too. Breakfast was fantastic (Rita makes some mean omelettes & waffles!), the location (Westport) makes it so easy to get to a lot of the major attractions. We rode our motorcycle down from Omaha & the shuttle service (electric car) made it so we could park the bike all weekend. They even let us stash our bags behind the counter after we checked out Sunday and drove us to the country club plaza so we could do some shopping & have lunch before riding back home on Sunday!

Westport is the district the Q hotel is in. They have some fantastic places to eat (Port Fonda, Korma Sutra, Thai Place) and lots of bars just a few blocks away. I saw the shuttle driving people to these places - it's so close & nice to explore! Just walk!

Girl's Weekend
The Q was great. We especially enjoyed the made-to-order omelets every morning and the free car service to the Plaza, Crown Center, and the Art Museum as well as pick-up and delivery to Union Station.. The only possible negative would have to be the full size beds. They were comfortable but a tad bit small.

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times and I've never been disappointed. The Q is located in the heart of the Westport area close to tons of bars, restaurants, and shopping. I will continue to stay at The Q anytime I am in the area.

Not impressed
I really wanted to like this place based on what I saw/read online. However...when we first arrived, there were dirty towels propping our room door open. There was an abandoned Housekeeping Cart and Vaccuum just sitting in the hall. A very unattractive looking Housekeeping Closet (just off from the elevator) sat propped open for our entire stay. When I went back downstairs to ask the FD Agent if she was sure that was supposed to be our room and explained what was going on up there. She was not apologetic and simply said "yeah - they told me it was clean." Needless to say, I was not wowed with this first impression. I marked Cleanliness low due to the condition of the room. Very dated. Warped water marks on the old t.v. cabinet and desk. The sealing peeling from the door that can be seen from the outside in the hall with the door closed. Cracks in the ceiling along where the wall meets the ceiling...the whole length of the room. The toilet was old - you have to stand there and hold the handle down to flush it. Last, but certainly not least - the hotel is located across the street from quite a few bars. When we got back to the hotel on Saturday night, I stopped by the Front Desk. While I was standing there, a guy came up to the Agent and told her he needed a key. She simply asked to which room. He replied "128". She just made the key for him. Never asked him to confirm the name on the room. Never asked him for photo ID to confirm he was a registered guest of the room. Never even asked him for his name. I work for a hotel and found this incredibly unsettling. Especially with the bar scene taking place across the street. We normally stay at Crown Center when we come in town, but thought we would try to stay closer to the Plaza this time around. Though the full breakfast was decent (no Equal for the coffee...booo), the price of the stay was too high given our experience.
