Hyatt to Sheraton Changeover
When Ioriginally booked the reservation, it was known as the Hyatt, but by the time of the actual stay, it had undergone the Dec. 1, 2011 changeover to Sheraton ownership. My initial trepidation of finding less-than-spectacular amenities (as is sometimes the case when there is a property changeover) was unfounded. Everything was beautifully decorated, staff was truly helpful and welcoming, and the stay was perfect - right in the heart of the Christmas lighting in KC.

Long walk from hotel
Dress for comfort always! Shoes, coats, gloves, hats. Traveling should be about your enjoyment and creating pleasant memorable experiences - not because you remember the time you nearly froze body parts because you wore the "fashionable" - dress for practicality and comfort!

Expected better
I understand new owners had just taken over but our stool in one room was stopped up before we used it and the other room had very little water coming out of the faucet for my friend to take a hot bath to relieve her swollen legs (#1006). No coffee pots and had to dress and go down stairs for comp. cup. Beds were wonderfull. Had not been told the charge would go on my card the day of reservation. Had to pay extra to park in garage.

Equipment didn't work
Staff was nice and room was nice. Old amenities - lots of mechanical noise at night. Elevators terribly slow - waited 10 minutes then walked down stairs from 23rd floor. Food choice at only restaurant was minimal at best. Health club had good cardio equipment- but poor exercise equipment with little in the way of free weights. Will not stay there again.

restaurants
All of the restaurants seem to fill up very fast. Make sure to book days ahead if you want to eat there.

A Comfortable Hotel
I stayed for business. Part of Crown Center, it had easy access to restaurants and shops. It was also easily accessible to transportation, which made going to the Nelson-Atkins Gallery very much easier. The room was spare and well appointed. The staff was friendly and helpful. A good hotel experience.

The Nelson-Atkins Gallery is an extraordinary art museum on impressive grounds. I was truly delighted by the collection. I would return to Kansas City for that alone.

Nice stay
Overall it was a nice & clean room and I was happy. I was surprised by the old school tv and the 10/day charge for wifi but no biggie.

Nice amenities for traveling on business
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency while in town for an event at the Convention Center. The Hyatt was organized and handled the large volume of guests efficiently. Transportation was provided by the conference, so there was no trouble getting to the convention center. Overall, my stay was very comfortable, but nothing to knock your socks off.

Great Weekend Getaway
Room and bed were very comfortable. Valet parking convenient and prompt. Good restaurants in house or walk the link to Crown Center restaurants and shops. Front desk check in, bell service, concierge, all courteous and prompt. Top floor SKIES restaurant/cocktail lounge has great 360 degree view and reasonable prices. We were seated immediately for cocktails 8:30pm on a Saturday night. Excellent cocktails in $6-8 range.
