Dining

The Oak Room
The elegantly stylish decor of the Oak Bar along with the warmth of the fireplace and comfortable seating makes our bar feel refined yet inviting. Sophisticated guests of Kansas City enjoy spectacular views of the Country Club Plaza while relaxing in our
La Bodega
Tip. Try the authentic Spanish sangria. You will not be disappointed. An authentic tapas bar. The atmosphere is inviting and is a great place for friends to meet and gather. The strong Spanish influence is evident not only on the menu but in the decor.
Pierpont's At Union Station
Dubbed "the culinary jewel" of Kansas City's historically renovated Union Station, Pierpont's has gained the reputation of serving Kansas City's finest steak and seafood selections.
Gates Barbeque
Tip Do not be alarmed, but the cashier will yell 'How may I help you?' the second you walk through the door. With seven locations in Kansas City, there is usually a Gates nearby. Voted one of Kansas City's best BBQ restaurants, order the delicate pork
Kona Grill
Kona has the best happy hour in Kansas City between 3pm and 7pm, Monday to Friday.
The Blue Stem
The atmosphere here is relaxed and peaceful. Consequently, cell phone use is frowned upon.
The Melting Pot
The chocolate fondue makes an excellent dessert. A great fondue restaurant located directly across from the hotel. The ambiance is trendy, yet romantic.
Classic Cup
Happy hour starts early, so to make sure you get a table, arrive just before 3pm. The unique menu is a melting pot for all tastes. The sidewalk or patio both offer lovely outdoor seating.
Lidia's
At the end of the meal the staff will bring you a tray of chocolate chip cookies. The menu captures the essence of Italy and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a staff that puts you at ease.
Plaza III Steakhouse
Although Kansas City is known for casual dining, this is one place where a blazer is part of the dress code. Located on the Country Club Plaza, Plaza III offers the best prime beef in Kansas City. The atmosphere is one of elegance and the restaurant was

weekend getaway

Enjoyed the stay at the hotel and the staff were friendly, accommodating, and committed to good service. I was disappointed that we had some issues with the TV remote and the in room coffee maker didn't work and I had to call and have it replaced. I expected a working fridge in the room and there wasn't one but otherwise loved it.

Beautiful Hotel, bad room experience

I stayed here with 3 other girlfriends for a bachelorette party. The room was really nice. We weren't in the room all day except for checking in, changing for dinner and then for the night around 11:30pm. At the time we all went to bed we realized that our room backed up to the elevators. They ran ALL night. I wish we would have been warned at check in because I would have asked for another room. Also there was no hot water. The poor bachelorette had purple lips after her shower. She took her shower at night so the rest of us decided to try the shower in the morning. We thought the hot water would be there then. Well it was just as cold as the night before. Finally the drain in the sink was clogged. The water tool forever to drain. It was really a nice room but we really didn't enjoy the stay. The view from the room was gorgeous. We looked right onto the plaza.

Romantic getaway

We found this hotel staff to be very friendly. We booked on late notice and got a beautiful room with a great view of the Country Club Plaza. The ONLY complaint we had was we could hear the band from our third floor room when we wanted to go to bed. However it was nice to have the entertainment option as the weather was snowy. We will definitely be coming back as location was fantastic.

Disappointed...

I was very disappointed with our motel stay for paying close to $400.00 for one night lodging, there is nothing special about this motel. There is not even a blow dryer or refrigerator for your personal use. Refrigerator thay have in your room is a bar that once you open costs $3.50 for a can of soda....Ridiculous! There is no breakfast included......and they do NOT tell you parking in the attached garage costs $15.00 a night!!!! Staff were not overly friendly or helpful.... Just expected a great deal more for the price! We will NOT return. Only positive is location & that being close to Plaza!

Hot Lobby at check-in and rooms were overbooked

I reserved my room through a 3rd party and specified TWO queen beds. When we arrived to check - in I had to stand in line for ten minutes. I was not told that I would not be given a room with 2 queens. So, we went to our first room to find a king and a set of chairs. I went back to the Lobby to stand in line for another 5 minutes to be told that all they had were rooms with 1 King and a pull out. After trying the next room, the keys did not work. Had to go back and stand in line for another 5 minutes to have keys re-programmed. DID NOT START OFF THE WEEKEND VERY WELL.

Couples Weekend

The staff at the hotel are extremely kind and accommodating. Location is fabulous - close to river with gondolas, restaurants, and shopping. Room was clean but starting to show some wear. The television is positioned to the side instead of in front of the bed - making it awkward to watch. All in all a positive experience. Don't book through Priceline though.
