Would've loved the room better if they were not next to the elevators and also is the windows would've faces to the north of the city...

Cabs are reasonable as long as you just go Downtown. There are a lot of restaurants downtown but don't plan on any shopping after 6:00. the sidewalks roll back! There are no nearby drug or grocery stores so plan on bringing everything you need or shopping in the hotel gift shop.

strong smell of mold int my room, I stayed in the same hotel a few years ago, and there was a smell of mold then too, either ... nothing has been done to remove the mold, or it has spread, either way it's bad. wireless internet in room was so slow it couldn't hold a connection no wired internet available. All outlets around desk area blocked by giant entertainment center. Why bother having a "Business Area", if you cannot plug in a laptop, have wireless internet that is so slow a connection cannot be held in individual rooms, and why not have a wired connection as an option for those who don't have a wifi enabled computer? the batteries in my tv remote were dead, and despite multiple requests daily, they were never replaced during my stay. the weekday breakfast buffet was pretty poor eggs were either under or over cooked (to the point of turning greenish) over all it wasn't worth the expense. the majority of the time i ate meals at the crown center food court.

Super for Silpada Conference
SterlingSilverSusan Jul 26, 2009
I was extremely impressed with this hotel. We were in town for a large conference on July 23-26. The rooms were plenty big ... for 2 adults and updated nicely. The granite countertops and marble floors in the bathroom were a nice touch. Though the t.v. didn't work upon arrival, a quick phone call and 5 minutes later, a "t.v. engineer" appeared at our door and had it working in a matter of minutes (it was unplugged and we were unable to pull out the entertainment center w/ a granite top!) We only used the pool for a couple of hours, but found it to be clean and refreshing. The entire staff was friendly and professional and made us feel like we were their only guests; the shuttle service was second to none. This came as a surprise due to the fact the conference added 1200+ people above the previous year. One word of caution: if you request a wake-up call, pad the time by 20 minutes as they personnally call each guest (it's not an automated system). And the rooms are not "sound proof" as stated in the description. If you suffer from sleep apnea, call the hotel for information about a special floor for you! One of my coworkers was quite impressed after accidentally getting off the elevator on the wrong floor and discovering this. All in all, great expectations, great experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Clean, nice Hotel
CriticalMe Jul 13, 2009
We stayed for one night to go to Il Divo concert. They had a complementry shuttle, but no one at the hotel concierge ... mentioned anything about it. Right before we get the cab, the shuttle driver happen to ask if we were headed to Sprint Center! The staff did not seem organized and informative compare to a lot of other hotels I have stayed before. The hotel was close to alot of resturants and attractions for only short stay. It was clean. The only thing I would not do again, ever, is to book through Orbitz. They have the worst services. I have given them two chances, and convienced that they are not efficient and don't give you what they peomised. This trip it cost me $50 for the breakfast that was supposed to be included in my package, but Orbitz denied it after I booked. The room we had did not have any coffee maker!

BoSoxWoman Jul 12, 2009
The Hyatt Regency was a top class hotel with a very welcoming helpful staff. They had great suggestions for places to eat. ... Most appreciated was their honesty when we asked if we could walk to a certain attraction and they advised that taking a cab would be a better option. Had dinner at the Spectator Lounge both nights so we could watch our home team the Boston Red Sox play the Kansas City Royals. Very friendly good natured rivalry made for two fun eveings.
