Homestead Kansas City - Airport

I requested a non-smoking room, but it was not available, so that was a bummer, because it stunk in the room and in the hallway. The hallway air conditioner was broken the two days we stayed, so it was muggy and hot walking to and from the room. The hotel only offered paid services that other hotels offer for free (such as changing towels and sheets). The hotel expected the dishes to be washed, but didn't offer any dish soap, just a packet to put in the dishwasher--I didn't want to run the whole dishwasher for 3 tea cups; I would've rather hand-washed them. There was no room service at all, except if you paid for it. Anything we needed, like toilet paper, coffee refills, a cart to bring our things up, etc, we had to go down to the bottom floor desk and request them. For this price, I could've gotten much better service at another hotel. The price was a bit under average, but the hotel standards were much less than average from what I have seen. It wasn't terrible, but there are better options out there for the same price.

Provided the comfort, location convenience and price/value during a late night stopover, after traveling from Kirksville, Mo. and catching early fight the next morning at the Kansas City Airport with wife and adult daughter.

The room was smaller than expected. water leak by ac/ unit, wet carpet. clogged drain in shower. Noisy and busy in halls.

Beds were very hard.....

The staff was very very friendly. There were no cups to drink out of in our room, so I had to go to walmart and buy some which stunk. There was no shampoo..so take your own shampoo. The pillows were way flat and the bed was way hard.. but the worst part of it I think was that they didn't have any kids channel to watch except for cartoon network, and at 11 at night, cartoon network isn't good programming for kids.. Nickelodeon or Disney would have been better to have in the room.

Great value for the location near the airport and room size. Bed wasn't the most comfortable and as a 'studio queen' it was just a full size.

This is my third trip to Kansas and this is the best hotel that I have stayed at. Traveling alone I felt safe at this hotel and I did not have that feeling in the other places that I stayed. The room was clean and I enjoyed the having the kitchen. The staff was always pleasant and helpful and there was always fresh hot coffee!!! I will come back each year I visit my son in Kansas. Staying here made my trip very pleasant.
