Better than we thought it would be
Our trip was just a four day get away, thus we stayed in Downtown, and wanted to be as close the Plaza as we could. We ate our breakfast and dinner down there most of our stay. We found the staff at the hotel to be courteous and friendly. After a rather rocky start to our vacation it was nice to check into the hotel with a smile from a very nice lady at the front desk. About the only thing we could complain about is that the bathroom was small and cramped, not much room for two people to try and maneuver around in. The location was fantastic (walking distance to the Plaza) and we appreciated the covered parking. Our room was better than we thought it would be, and we both felt it was a good value for the price. The bed was very comfortable and the room was well appointed. We would stay here again.

Walk down to the Plaza, as driving in the evening is not a good idea! The traffic is quite heavy and it is much easier to get around by walking.

Great location in the Plaza area
Hotel made reservations for us on the way back from our trip for Sat. night along with free shuttle to the dining establishment. Great location,easy to walk around in the plaza area.

Really great location!!!
We visited Kansas City for the Labor Day weekend. We visited the Plaza, City Market, Arabia Steamboat Museum, Union Station. The Holiday Inn on the Plaza was very nice. Our room was very large and extremely clean. Our king-size bed was very comfortable. Overall our stay at this hotel was excellent. Would have liked a frig & microwave and a flat screen TV. The staff was very helpful.

weekend in kc
This hotel is in a great location for checking out all of the sites that Kansas City has to offer. Staff was helpful. The free van that they ran in a 3 mile radius was very nice after a night on the town. Hotel is undergoing renovation, how ever that was not a big deal.

KC - Plaza
Staff were great and very helpful. Pool and facilities were excellent and for the money, it is a great place to stay. The building is aged and some areas could use refreshing or airing out, but I would not hesitate staying there again!

Weekend release from home-grown cabin fever
We chose this hotel because of its proximity and convenience accessing both The Plaza and nearby Kemper or Nelson Art Museums. This is a part of the city that doesn't suffer from excess arterial traffic flow or other noises. Overall, our experience went well considering the volume of travelers present accessing the same services at the same time. Area is relatively quiet, even safe after dark if walking is desired. The motel even provides an as needed "free" shuttle to the Plaza area if you do not care to risk walking or driving your own vehicle there. Staff was cordial, professional, friendly. They responded quickly to the 1 request I had. I highly recommend the breakfast buffet. The food is good and the prices are very competitive with other franchise fare. If I had to nit-pick it would the building's motor-generator noise emanating from an area near the G1-G2 garage levels at certain times of the day. We noticed the noise right away but it was muted once the TV or fan was turned on inside the room. Also, if claustrophobia is an issue for you parking in the underground garage facility where the spaces are quite tight you might want to try an different Holiday Inn locale.

KC Union Station: there's a lot to do here and the costs are nominal, especially if you have children. Recommend you appear before 10:00am to get access to the upper level parking spaces which can be cheaper than nearby parking garage.
