Fairfield Inn by Marriott Kansas City Airport

Friendly staff, clean room -- but no hot water either morning during the business rush to get out.

I really enjoyed the stay at Fairfield. I was in for just a day and yet the staff did everything to make me comfortable and feel welcome. The shuttle driver took me over to a local shopping center where I could get a good meal. The locale is very close to the airport but not near much of anything else. It was just what I needed for this trip.

Decent hotel for the money. Good location. Easy to get to MCI

Arriving in Kansas City on a late late flight for a one day business trip, this hotel was a convenient place to spend the night before my next day's meetings. Despite landing after midnight, the shuttle was waiting at the curb. (This was due to our United flight crew staying at the hotel, but it was still great to find it right there.) This was a fairly standard business hotel. Amenities were nice enough and it appeared to have been remodeled fairly recently. The self-serve continental breakfast was better than some I've seen, but nothing to write home about. If you're looking for luxury travel this isn't the place, but if you want a clean, quiet stop for a night you could do far worse.

No problems. Room was clean and everything worked.

We went to Kansas City to do some shopping and just get away. Fairfield Inn was a great choice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was not only clean and comfortable, it was very attactive. We appreciated the coffee available all day in the lobby, as we are big coffee drinkers. The hotel was also fairly close to a nice shopping/dining area. There were a lot of teenagers and younger kids staying in the hotel, but we weren't bothered with noise.

We arrived after 10 pm and asked for a 3:30 wake up call so we could return the rental car and make our 6am flight. The desk clerk suggested we return the car that night and made the shuttle arrangements. This allowed us more sleep time. That morning when we came down to catch the 4:40 shuttle, it had already left. The clerk called it back and within minutes we were on our way to the airport. They really try to remove the stress and make your stay as comfortable as possible.

An interesting night at an affordable and convenient location. Power went out because of a major storm and staff did a good job of keeping the emergency power functioning for 5 to 6 hours. Staff was helpful and cheerful and provided some price concessions because of this.
