Extended Stay America Kansas City - Airport

Everything was pretty average but not a bad deal. Had a new guy checking me in so took a little longer but they were nice. Our shower was leaky, but overall the room wasn't bad.

I landed at 11;30 at night and took off at 7:30 the next morning. It was close to the airport, clean and the bed wasn't bad either. I already had a reservation so when I got there, the clerk checked me in fast and I was in my room in less than 5 minutes. I was needing a place for a short layover, I shopped only on price and I was completely satisfied with my room.

I stayed here because of it's close proximity to the Airport because I had a very early flight out of town. It served it's purpose in that regard, but was quite dingy. The non-smoking room had an obvious cigarette burn on the bed spread, the water pressure in the sink and shower were very weak and there was no shampoo in the bathroom. You can also hear the people in the rooms next to and above you. My goal was to sleep for six hours of my seven hours there. I was able to sleep for about two. Also, when I went to check out, which was admittedly very early in the morning, there was nobody at the front desk and there were curtains in front of it. I just had to slide the key underneath and hope for the best.

I neded some place to stay for a 6 hr layover that was inexpensive and nice. I didn't want to spend alot of money for a short time. It was decent and comfortable.

It was a great setting for business I will definitely use this hotel if I get the job I was there interviewing for. I was expecting a continental breakfast but then remember where I was staying and that is given at the oterh chains in the area. All and all it was a good trip and I hope I get the job.

Room was clean and just fine. Small things made the experience unsatisfactory. No shampoo or other toiletries. Though they have wifi, the website did not disclose that it costs extra. No continental breakfast. The shuttle has very limited hours. On one hand, one could ask "what do you expect for under $50?"... BUT the Microtel across the street offered all those things for the same price. I simply wanted to try Extended Stay later in the week (also because Microtel had a weird smoky-mirror at the head of the bed that I could envision having creeps looking through it... and the room was not as new or quite as clean as Extended stay). Next time, I will either spend a bit more for a different hotel, or of the two, will go back to Microtel.

Booked me in a smoking room even though I requested non smoking; beds not very comfortable, pillows & bedding looked very old

basically good, but the web sited lied about a fitness center.

My 1st evening I found bathroom and floors not entirely clean. Hotel provided unscheduled maid service next day while I was out working. TV failed and night clerk could not assist; said he didn't know what he could do to help. At checkout manager was very polite and offered acceptable compensation but the overall demeanor of my stay gave me pause...
