Nearby to all the good stuff
I was in town for a concert at the Sprint Center & wanted something close yet reasonable. After checking out a variety of hotels, I chose Comfort Inn & Suites. Parking was fine though could be an issue as noted in other reviews I've seen. Wireless internet is included and available in the room. Both parking & internet cost extra at the swanky chains that were closer. The breakfast buffet was standard with make-your-own waffles, cereal, bakery items, boiled eggs, biscuits with sausage gravy and beverages. The apple juice was basically water. Otherwise it was good. The room was nice and clean, basic toiletries provided. Word of warning, the mattresses are hard. Microwave and fridge in working order. Had no problem with noise other than traffic on the highway but our room faced it. I was very pleased that our window actually opened fully and we could get some fresh cool air. The staff were pleasant. We had a tornado warning around noon and we were kept informed of the situation. I would stay here again as it's close to all the major attractions in the area.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
The Steamboat Arabia Museum is nearby as well as the Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park. There is a paved trail that will eventually lead up to a bridge where you can take an elevator or stairs up and then continue on over by the river market.

Professional Convention
I attended a convention, I walked every morning, took a cab back at night. There was a shooting at the convenience store a block away. Security Guard shot a would be robber. It served it purpose, a clean place to sleep everynight. The hallway tend to smell of stale smoke, periodically,

Great location and price
just needed a weekend getaway. Shopped at the Crown Center and City Market. Had dinner delivered to the room. Enjoyed the waffles for breakfast and the complimentary coffee in the lobby. Didn't use the pool but it would have been nice to have a hot tub.

better than Expected
The hotel was very nice. It was right on the outskirts of town, less than a mile from most of the night life. The staff knew how to get places. Rooms were clean. The only problem I had was one night after 2am, the hotels locks the front door and you have to pick-up a telephone outside to ring the concierge. We were standing out there for almost 5 minutes and no one picked up the other end. Some other guest had to go to the side door to walk around and let us in. But other than that, it was a good stay. Never had the chance to enjoy the pool although it did look rather small. And there is one front desk person who seems to mock the guest when yhey don't know where certain places are.

Short walk from hotel
Kansas City has a great idea for nightlife. It's all in the Power and Light district at Main and 13th Street. All the bars are on one block.

Rooms on North side noisy due to I-70
We stayed at this hotel to attend the Bruce Springsteen concert nearby. The concert was canceled due to a death in his family. We were unable to cancel our reservation. I wish there was someway of canceling in a circumstance such as this. Our room was on the North side of the hotel, almost on top of I-70. Traffic noise was not unbearable, but noticeable.

Comfort Inn Downtown
First non-smoking room completely reeked of smoke. We were changed to a second non-smoking room that was on the smoking floor (3rd). The hall smelt of smoke but the room was clean. Staff was semi-helpful by providing a map. At times either joking or slightly rude and it was hard to tell the difference. Comments should've been joking but tone and delivery were a little snooty. Internet service was spotty about receiving a connection. Beware the one way streets. Make sure you know not only which street things are but which way you are able to go. Take Exit 2K to get to Exit 2H.

Short drive from hotel
Short Drive/Long Walk away is the Power & Light District. P&L has many bars(and a big outside area) but they are more pricey than some of the other bars that may be just a little farther drive.
