LOCATION AND PRICE

If you are in the Grandview area for an IHOP-KC activity this is the place to be, very near to the Prayer Room and the price is fantastic since you go to the hotel just to sleep. Other reviews said that only a few channels worked, that is not the case anymore. I was able to see many channels.

What I Expected...plus a few friends.

My husband and I went to Kansas City for a two day event at the Kansas City Convention Center. The event was only a 15 minutes away so I was pleased with the location. I was told there would be a mini fridge in the room so I brought some soda in a small cooler. Our room did not have a fridge but I just got some ice from the ice machine and called it good. I wasn't in the mood to be a finicky traveler and I just didn't worry about it. The biggest problem that I had with the room is that I woke up at 2 am in a panic, convinced something had run across my face. When I turned on the light, there were ten or more tiny bugs in the bed that when I squished them were filled with blood. I know little to nothing about bugs so I don't know what kind they were but I was pretty disgusted. I didn't see them the second night of my stay but let's just say I'm happy to be in my own home again. The front desk staff was really nice, the breakfast was as to be expected, cereal and doughnuts, but I can still appreciate a free breakfast when I am traveling. It really helpes with costs.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

I really enjoyed the power and light district. I would go on walks during breaks in the event we were attending and check out all of the interesting artitecture and views from the street. It was a lot of fun to take pictures of. Also, there was a grocery store called Cosentino's. If I were to consider moving based on grocery stores, I would be packing up right now. It was seriously cool. It had a deli, a huge delicious looking salad bar, a ton of fruits and veggies, as well as handmade pastries and chocolates. Loved it!

Averge but cheap cheap cheap

It was fine nothing special, the staff was a little rough around the edges but nice. The room was quiet but the bed was hard as a rock and there was no mini fridge as described. No coffee! Thats a downfall for me but the price was right and I would stay there again.

True dump - stay away

This hotel is in a bad part of town with weird people wondering around. The non-smoking room was smelling smoke. We called Orbitz to cancel. The only reason we booked it in the first place was the Nascar weekend and everything below $70 was gone.

On a budget

Hotel was very basic. We stayed two nights and they did not come clean the room. We had to go down to the front desk. Overall it was worth the money. Close to restaurants, gas station and the hiway.

Had an Interview on Friday

The breakfast donuts were not fresh the second day. Staff was pretty pleasant, was offered help to take my luggage out to my car; could have done without the 10:45 am call, “this is the front desk are you checking out, at 11:00?” Suggestion- “Good morning, will you be leaving by 11:00 AM your scheduled check out time?” The night was surprisingly peaceful, non-smoking room smell of smoke. One of the curtains was shorter for the air-conditioner, but when closed and lying on the bed I could see out, had to place a chair in front of the gap. Bathroom re-done good, had I been on the first floor I probably would not have stayed.

Good Enough

The room was old but clean as it could be. There were only 4 working channels on the TV and the wi-fi was there but didn't work. The pool was nice and clean, but could use some chairs for laying out. Definitely could use some shade, my door was so hot to the touch it burnt me. Overall, it was great for the price, and close to a lot of great stuff

Hotel needs lots of work.

The hotel is easy to find, right off the highway and fair priced, that is why I choose it. I will not stay at this hotel again in the future. The parking lot is dark and no security. It was late when we got there. The tv was old and had horrible reception on the 4 channels that did come in. Really impossible to watch so we just went right to bed. In the morning I went to take a shower and the water barely came out and did not get hot, more luke warm. I flushed the toilet before using and horrible brown sewage came up, nasty!!! When walking from bathroom to bed I stepped on nails sticking out of carpet where carpet meets tile, very painful and bleeding. I went to talk to office, but she was too busy chatting on phone so I didn't want to stick around and left. Do not stay at this place!!!
