Bed Bug Infestation (SICK)
This Motel is infested with Bed Bugs and NOTHING is being done about it! We paid for a 30 day stay (Non Refundable)and was miserable the whole time being Bitten and eaten alive by Bed Bugs, I have never seen anything like it before in my entire life! We spent $65 dollars on Bed Bug Spray after complaining to Management and nothing done. Bottom Line if you want to be bitten alive then have a pleasant stay...Same management also runs Capitol Inn too, so i'm sure they are there too!!!! OH AND THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST..HA HA THAT'S FALSE ADVERTISEMENT...ALL YOU GET IS A CUP OF COFFEE

The good and the bad
The good part was the the hotel was inexpensive. We were only looking for a place to sleep for one night. The staff was friendly. The bad part was the quality isn't the best. The hotel smells weird (our room smelled fine though), there was no fridge or microwave, some of the drawers were broken, they don't provide shampoo, we had to kill a few small spiders, some of the other people staying at the hotel seemed sketchy. The area that the hotel is located in seemed kind of deserted, didn't seem like a very safe area. However, everything went smoothly, but we didn't have very high expectations. I guess the bottom line is that you get what you pay for. It's not that bad if you only need somewhere to sleep for a night.

BEWARE!!!!!!!
Bugs (both alive and dead) in the room, no service for the 2 days I stayed, electrical outlets in bathroom did not work, door to room seemed VERY unsafe and flimsy - could hear right through it. I have no idea the original color of the carpets as they seem to have not been steam cleaned - well - EVER. the king bed mattress sagged badly in the middle and - the shower NEVER got hot even leaving it turned up ONLY on hot. the hotel is actually located behind the CAPITOL INN hotel and is not visible from the road. On the other hand, the gentleman who checked me in was very cordial.

Served its purpose
House keeping never came into our room the entire time we were there, we ran out of toiletries before checking out. We were there 5 nights. The room itself was very nice, spacious and clean. Hotel appears to have been a nice place in its prime, and was in a hopping part of town which appears to have recently died. There were very few shops open in the area anymore. The room served its purpose.

A Little Nervous
The location of this hotel made me "A Little Nervous" It was just blocks away from an almost abandoned strip mall with empty buildings and graffiti all over the place. I think some of the people staying in the hotel were using it like it was an apartment building and living there. There was a detour because of road construction just to get to the place. Overall it was not a peaceful night of sleep. The hotel itself was less than average as the linens felt like sandpaper and the little walk out patio had rotted boards all around it. The TV did not work at first but after several attempts to turn it on and off it came on correctly. The bathrooms were clean but very dated and needed some touch up work done to them. The same goes for the room itself. The air conditioner knob was broken off and I had to use McGroober a way to turn it down from icebox setting. The overall feel of the place was uneasy as you didn't know who was a hotel guest and who was just loitering around the hotel. The one positive thing I can say about it is that the manager was very friendly and it was very cheap to stay there.

SCARED WHITE
TERRIBLE!!!**WARNING**NOT SAFE!!
i WAS GOING TO A LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL FOR AN EVENT FOR THE WEEKEND. WHEN I GOT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL ON FRIDAY NIGHT THE PRINCIPAL ASKED WHERE I WAS STAYING AND SHE SAID THAT I CAN'T STAY THERE THAT IT IS NOT SAFE. WE THEN WENT AND ASKED (1 OF 3) POLICE MEN AT THE GAME AND HE SAID NO DO NOT STAY THERE. THAT THEY GET CALLED THERE ALL THE TIME. AND THAT THEY HAVE HAD ONLY 2 HOMICIDES THIS YEAR IN THE AREA. I SAID THIS YEAR IT'S ONLY JAN? HE SAID YES THIS YEAR. ANYWAY I DECIDED NOT TO STAY THERE. SO I JUST WENT TO THE SCHOOL AND BACK TO THE INTERSTATE.

Needs a little help
The hotel was clean and the owners hospitible...the room we stayed in was cleaned but not checked prior to arrival...I had to ask for toliet paper, there were only 2 towels and 1 washcloth....We were staying 2 nights, so I don't expect clean sheets, but no one came to the room to bring clean towels, or empty trash. No tissues...coffee pot but no coffe in room. However I do bring my own. The hotel is old and in need of grounds upkeep. It is also near train tracks, so trains go through daily. Overall it was fine for what I needed.

Conveniently located 10 minutes from Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun. Continental breakfast. Friendly front desk - very helpful, gave us good information on where we could find a good restaurant, directions, etc. Got a very good night's rest in a super comfortable bed with clean bedding.

Nightlife tip:
Short drive from hotel
Good time to bring your own cooler of beer. Prepare to see $6.50 beers at most venues in Kansas City.

filthy
We spent 3 hours cleaning the room. My husband had to clean the air conditioner coil. His allergies went crazy from the dirt and dust. We had to buy cleaning supplies and bedding. Then when we came home I had to wash every single item that we took with us. Even the stuff that we didn't wear to make sure that we didn't have any bugs in them. We took 20 pictures of things that were wrong in the room.
