My Stay at the Truman hotel.
I don’t recommend staying at this hotel. The front desk girl was not very friendly at all. I asked her a few questions and she looked at me like there was something wrong with me. I think they need to train the staff on customer service. Just to warn you, they also give you a complementary breakfast coupon. Don't even bother with the breakfast. The eggs looked like eggs you would find in a third world country. They don't even offer fruit or cereal. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends or family. I would rather pay another $30.00 and stay at a place were you feel more welcomed

Short walk from hotel
Best part of visit was stumbling on nearby German restaurant -- Die Stein Haus. Incredible food, atmosphere and service.

Disappointed...
Upon checking in, everything seemed in order. I went to my vehicle to bring in a few more things that I needed, and I couldn't unlock the main door with my door "card" - I walked to the front of the building, and went to my room that way - inconvenient. My key worked in my room - thank goodness. This was a business trip, so the highspeed internet was quite important. Upon turning on the laptop, zilch. I went BACK to the front office, showed them the message that was on my computer - they said it's not their problem, gave me a phone number and sent me on my way. After a half hour or technical "help", I had internet. That evening, I was sitting at my table working, and felt a draft. The window was cracked about an inch open - and could not be closed. I went back out to my vehicle to get something else. Again, locked out. BACK to the frong, and asked that they re-activate my card so that I wouldn't have to keep "hiking" everytime I had to go to my vehicle. They did so, and I went to my room. The following morning, I had a 7:30 conference - at 6:00, I went in the bathroom to begin getting ready - NO WATER!!! I called the front desk to inform them of such, and they said the water was being worked on and wouldn't be available for two hours... WHAT? Needless to say, I was NOT happy. This is a business trip - I went to my car to get a few other items - again LOCKED OUT. Went through the front, to my room - LOCKED OUT OF MY ROOM. Are you kidding me? Back to the front desk - key REACTIVATED. In my room - still no water - logged onto my computer - NO INTERNET. I could go on - but - on the positive side. A nice, quiet place. Clean room - location was good. Will I stay again? No.

The "mall" stinks - for the Capital of Missouri, Jefferson City has one of the smallest malls I have EVER seen - No, really - You'd have to see it to believe it... Other shopping strip type stores, but nothing to get too excited about.
