night out
We had a pretty good time, except I fell and hurt my arm in the kiddie pool, no signs saying there was a step. I am glad I did not have an infant in my arms or they would have hit the wall. Dangerous situation. at least hotel employees knew about this after the fact, but no one offered an incident report. Odd, I thought. So if you have small children, beware of the kiddie pool. The jacuzzi was too hot to sit in.

We attended the state football game for Webster Groves HS. Our cousin was head coach. The stay was too short, but we enjoyed the hotel and the extra ammenities.

Everything as advertised
This hotel was great. We had a 3 night stay in advance of a family wedding. The free breakfast buffet was excellent. There were scrambled eggs, french toast, sausage, waffles, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee...I'm sure I'm leaving something out. The three free drinks between 5:30-7:00 was a nice bonus. They had several types of wine, margaritas, screwdriver, bloody marys, beer, and more. I had the merlot and bloody mary, both of which were excellent. The margarita was more like watered down kool-aid...I wouldn't recommend it. Fresh popcorn was available in the lobby and we did partake once or twice. From the evening that we showed up until the time we checked out the staff was extremely friendly and helpful although we didn't need much. We did use the pool and hot tub on our first night there (a Wednesday). Only we and another family were there and only one of their children was using the hot tub. It was all very clean and towels were available. We did have a bit of a hard time finding the pool since there was some construction going on and we didn't see any 'detour' signs, but we did find it. The construction was complete by the time we checked out. Our room was a typical but nice room with king sized bed. We had a large flat screen tv, mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. Also had an iron board and iron which I did have to use so was nice to have. All of the usual amenities were present. We only asked for housekeeping after the first night. Except for not replacing the coffee for the coffeemaker, the housekeeping was good. We did see the small workout room on the first floor. It looked nice but we did not use it. The biggest complaint, and it's not a big one, was that the main elevator was VERY slow and not temperature-controlled so got very warm. Overall, this hotel gets high marks for it's great staff, the free drink and free breakfast, and reasonable rates. We have never stayed in a Drury but we will look for this hotel when booking in the future.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
The St. Louis Zoo is about 10 miles back toward town. Although many zoos can be classified as 'good', this one is right near the top of the list. There are too many things about the zoo to describe but the highlight was the stingray exhibit where we were able to pet and feed the stingrays. These things reminded me of our cats they way they would come to us and almost help us to pet them...over and over. And then to feed them was just great. We stayed at least 30 minutes and almost decided to come back later but then it was closing time. Unfortunately, the stingray exhibit is only open until Sept 26 but I believe opens again in the spring. About the best $3/person you can spend.

Fantastic Travel Deal
This Drury Hotel has a great location just outside the St Louis beltway. You can easily zip back into the city for touring and sports. Best of all, is the free evening food and drinks, and free hot breakfast buffet. The hotel already has a great price, but when you add in the extras, it really becomes a super value... especially for those traveling with children.

Courteous and Accomodating
The staff was accommodating, allowing us to check in early to use the pool on a 99 degree day. Also, the hotel offered a lot of extra food and drinks--happy hour snacks, hot breakfast, and afternoon popcorn.

Absolutely Wonderful
The hotel was clean, friendly staff, and in a very easy to find location. It was in close proximity to both the zoo and six flags. My kids loved the pool. The breakfast was unbelievable and kids loved the french toast. The kickback and popcorn was a great evening treat as well. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in this area!
