Room was very smelly. Hadn't been vacuumed in forever. Reservation was lost and so were a lot of others from our family who were there for a family reunion. Continental breakfast was a choice between cereal and a honey bun.
This is a hotel that is geared to guests who only stay a single night. They didn't always remember to clean my room. The device that generates the electronic keys was broken when I arrived and once it was fixed, they created a key that only
worked for one night then I had to have it recreated each night. Very inconvenient. I requested and was assigned a "non-smoking" room but a very strong, sweet smelling deodorizer was used to mask the stale smoke smell in my room. The hallways and lobby both smelled of smoke. The toilet in the room wouldn't flush the first night I arrived and had to be repaired the following day. The sink dripped throughout the visit. I would say that if the smell of smoke doesn't bother you, the other items were probably not inconsistent with the moderate cost of this hotel.
We were attending a family reunion in Dexter and found this hotel to be conviently located for all our activities. We were a little disappointed in the breakfast offerings, but for the price we were not going to complain. Staff was friendly and
accomodating; room was kept clean; bed was a little too soft for our taste.
The young man who checked us in was friendly and helpful - but the rest of the staff was unfriendly, didn't speak English and were not around later in the evening or next morning. There was a bad odor in our first room, the young man moved us to
another. It was better, but still present. Breakfast consisted of one type of cereal and some pre-packaged rolls. They ran out of coffee. I guess for $50 we shouldn't complain. We had stayed here years ago and it was very nice. Not so much these days!!
