The hotel is conveniently located, is clean and even had a microwave and refrig in the room. New carpet was being installed and it looks great. The breakfast buffet was good but was loaded with carbs - not many non-carb choices.

graduation day
spent a weekend in winona for child's graduation and stayed at the Nichols Inn. Great Value and the staff was great!.

Adequate Stay, but invest in some air freshener!
Friendly staff and good value for the price, but please do something about the smelly hallways! The stairways and halls smelled like a doghouse and nearly made us cancel our reservation on the spot. Luckily, the room did not smell....but not a great way to start our stay.

Above adequate.
Front desk person was friendly and accomodating. Room was clean and having a fridge and microwave were nice additions. I would stay there again and recommend it.

Garvin Hieghts is definitely a worthwhile 5 to 10 minute drive. Gorgeous view.

Great, great place to stay.
I was attending a horse show in Winona, and this place was perfect. Only 5 miles from the equestrian center. In addition it was very quiet and clean. The only recommendation I would make to have it be perfect, is to add a small refrigerator to the room to help keep my pop cold.

good value for the money
Stayed at the Nichols Inn while visiting Winona, Wabasha & Red Wing for a long weekend vacation. Is an older motel that has been refurbished. Was impressed by the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Breakfast and breakfast dining area was better than expected for a lower cost motel. This is a good value for the money. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Brief stay
We were there for registration at WSU. Location was close and easy to find. It is near alot of stores and restaurants. There was nobody at the desk when we arrived, also when we were getting ready to leave and check out. They were friendly, but should have better coverage of front desk. I was not the only person at either time. The room was clean and neat, but the towels could be improved upon. The tub does drain slow when showering. The hallway did smell of smoke although the rooms all appeared to be non-smoking. It was fine for the cost which included breakfast.

This is an OK place
The guests were noisy. The bathtub did not drain properly and the toilet had streaks of stains that were not scrubbed.
