Holiday Inn ROCHESTER DOWNTOWN

This hotel was great for what I needed. I was visiting family at Mayo, and just needed something close. It is attached to the the skyway, so it is very convenient. It is also right across the street from several great pubs and restaurants. Staff was nice when I checked in and nice when I checked out, other than that, didn't have any contact with anyone else. I requested not to have my room cleaned, as I was only there for the weekend. I did see the maid cleaning rooms at all hours of the day though. You have to pay for the parking ($12), which I can understand since its in a downtown setting, but wish they could give a discount for their guests. Overall, it was an average hotel for an average price, but that was what I was looking for.

The best thing about staying at this hotel was its central location. The pool is very small (and overrun with children), the room was very small, the bar didn't open early or stay open late, but overall it was okay.

Very convenient to the Mayo Clinic. We were able to take skywalk and subway indoors all the way.

Restaurant and Lounge staff were very accommodating. Room was clean but was surprised at how small it was. Next time will probably upgrade to a bigger room.

Good value for the price, many hotels right next to this one are over $200. Easy walk to the Clinic, restaurants and shops, but a real hike to the hospital. The shuttle service very unclear, i choose to drive myself not to risk missing a meeting due to a shuttle. You can hear what other people do in their bathroom, but room was quiet and very comfortable. Parking is additional cost, which is funny. Other hotels offer it included in the stay. Unfortunately, can not recommend the hotel restaurant, but it is easy enough for a cup of coffee in the morning.

Provided economical lodgings near the Mayo Clinic. Description of ammenities did not note the pool that's available here. I would have brought my suit and goggles had I known.

The room was clean, everything worked. Nothing felt old. The Internet worked. It was connected to the skyway network, which made things convenient. Everything was good without "hitting it out of the park". Along with the helpful staff, it was a good value for the money. I didn't feel like I gave up anything for a lower cost.

This hotel has what you need on site. If you need to relax and don't want to go out after a long day you can dine in the restaurant and have a drink at the bar or maybe even go for a swim. The staff is friendly and the hotel is nice and clean. Two thumbs up.
