Solid Hotel

We stayed at the Hampton Inn for 1 night while we were in town on family business. It's a good, solid hotel. It's a little bit older, but the rooms are nice and clean and the bedding is comfortable. Desk staff was very friendly. I appreciated that there was always coffee available at the front desk. Breakfast in the morning was nice. The location is good - easy to find when you're coming into town and not far from the mall area and downtown.

they redeemed themselves

I stayed the same place couple years ago and the bad memory(mostly bad customer service, room odor, smoking/non-smoking room did not have clear boundaries to set apart) wouldn't go away easily. Well, long story short, I had to go back to the area for business trip. I didn't have many choices of hotel in the area so I gave it a shot, hoping there would be an improvement of some sort. I'm glad I gave them a 2nd chance (or gave myself 2nd chance, however you look at it). Entire facility is now smoking free and housekeeping was pretty in good shape. so I was already pleasantly surprised. Linens, matresses, flat screen HD TV, and good water pressure (I stayed on 3rd floor) were also good ~very good experience. Only downfall was that I asked for toothpaste on 2nd day (one I brought was almost empty), staff says it is "just" all out. so I had to go Walgreen which located less than 1/3mile away. Breakfast station was just about average, not too terrible or not too fancy - but they had all the basics. If you are not a morning person, I would avoid their staff - they are somewhat 'chatty'. too much for me to handle in the morning but I saw many other visitors enjoying their company.

Smallish room, very clean, 24 hour pool

This is a good place to stay if cleanliness is important to you (as it is to me). It may be a little overpriced for the smallish room and shallow pool, but I'd stay there again. Another plus for us was that the pool was open 24 hours, enabling us to swim early in the morning before a Mayo Clinic apt. A con was that the breakfast wasnt that great, though they did have a fresh waffle maker.

Second Stay

I brought my wife this time and she was very pleased with the room and amenities (beds and pillows are comfortable). She also liked the staff and location. We went to an evening event and had a late supper just a couple of blocks down the street (several nearby resturants). The Mall is simple to drive to on a couple of roads and for people who are there for medical reasons there is a shuttle. Don't be fooled by the exterior, which is understated. The interior is very appealing, clean and modern, with a flat panel TV and a fridge in our room. The hotel also has a fitness room, business room and pool whirl pool room.

Single Night Stay

This hotel room appeared to be very up to date, with a flat panel tv. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room and greater hotel area were very well kept. There was ample staff to respond to you in a timely manner. I didn't use the business area (didn't see), fitness area (a few pieces of equipment) or pools/hot tub area (looked good). The location appears to be convenient to the Mall and has a hospital shuttle. I will be back with the family during future visits to the city.

Happy at Hampton

We were very happy with our stay at Hampton Inn in Rochester. I always try to stay at Hampton's because I LOVE the bedding! They don't have those nasty bedspreads like other hotel chains. They have plush white comforters and great pillows. They always make the trips sooo much better! The only reason I gave the hotel 4 stars instead of 5 is because I requested a crib and one was not in the room when we arrived. The staff was really nice and offered to bring one in the room for us but we had a pack n play so we just used that. It wasn't a big deal but it would have been nice if one have been in the room when we arrived. Overall, the staff was great and helpful, the bedding was AWESOME, and the breakfast was very good.

Very pleased!

Both my parents visit Rochester Mayo Clinic. This hotel was very clean and quiet. The location is close and easy to get them to their early morning appointments. Great breakfast, and selection of coffee.

We were there as my husband needed tests at the Mayo Clinic. The spotless room and the friendliness of the staff were very much appreciated. Breakfast was great and we also very much enjoyed the soup in the evening.
