my husband and i were celebrating our 5 year anniversary and we stayed for just one night. shortly after we arrived at the room we received a call to make sure everything was satisfactory. we also took advantage of the FREE acura ride which was also very fun. all in all a great night! oh, and i LOVE the showers... even the worst of singers could sound good in their showers.

W Foshay is OK
Minneapolis never disappoints with its lively music scene, the fabulous Walker, great food and its lakes. While the staff were all great at the W, we were a little underwhelmed at this hotel. As far as "W" hotels go, the one in San Fran is much nicer. The W Foshay was not as clean nor was a conceirge available often--we saw him once during the 5 days we were there. It's not that it was terrible--it just didn't live up to the hype.

Great Indian restaurant across the street; upscale Mexican, try Masa, and if you're up for a short drive, Lola's or Black Sheep have great pizza.

Some warm water would have been nice...
The hotel itself is very nice, very hip. The rooms are very clean. The Living Room is the hotel bar and has been a lot of fun every time I've been there and this trip was no exception. The crowd is mostly 20-30 somethings. This was the first time I've stayed at the W and when I went to take a shower the next morning, there was no hot water. I called the desk to see what the problem was and I was told someone from engineering would be up to my room soon. After 15 mins of not hearing anything, I called back and was told that the boiler for my floor was out and that in a few minutes there would again be hot water. After waiting another 30 minutes, I was forced to take a cold shower. At checkout, I informed the employee of the problem and was not offered remuneration of any kind. Stay at your own risk!
