Once-historic bank becomes modern Minneapolis luxury

Following adventure on the town, the end-of-day rewards here are plenty: an indoor pool cloaked in midnight blue, a dimly lit cocktail lounge and a savory dish or decadent treat at B.A.N.K.
Highlights
- The penthouse patio boasts panoramic views of the city
- Original bank vault converted into a wine cellar at B.A.N.K.
- Partake in a true "no interruption" function in the hotel's vault-secured meeting room
- Walking distance to Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis Convention Center, Metrodome, Target Center and Hennepin Theatre District

Super service
I had a fantastic time at the Westin--I was arranging a surprise for my husband to renew our vows, and when the staff heard about it, they upgraded me to a gorgeous suite. The hotel was beautiful, the staff was so friendly, and we had a terrific time.

Not Staying there again
Half the room is an L-shaped hallway within it. The space is ineffectively utilized.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Do not eat in this hotel's restaurant unless you like mediocre frou frou dining. Tomato soup with popcorn in it? There are many great good restaurants that are within walking distance.

Just not like WESTIN
I reserved the room with a kingsize bed , it is confirmed and prepaid, but they offerred two queen size beds and just said there is no room available; secondly there is no guest service directory (service book) in the room. things are weird, after my complaint, the directory is delivered to my room. and I made an international phone call to China around 10-20 minutes, and they charged USD282. While there is no service charge and cost policy on the directory, so I complainted twiced to the manager, the cost is reduced to USD50 finally .

Perfect Birthday Gift
The staff at the Westin is excellent, they were more than helpful with answering questions/recommendations for the Minneapolis area. The price was outstanding for the location and overall impression we got from the hotel. The restaurant was fantastic. Highly recommend the Westin for a Minneapolis vacation!

If you are in a mood to dance and get reasonably priced drinks check out The Saloon on Hennepin Ave. Just a quick 5 blocks from the Westin.

Nice rooms, nice location, nice
It's in the middle of downtown Minneapolis, which, if you happen to come from a big city, is really REALLY small, you can walk the entire downtown area within 30 minutes probably. The staff is friendly, the service was adequate. The rooms are really nice. For the price you're paying, you're getting a nice hotel. Also, the bed is super comfy. Surprising pro: 1. really good restaurant in the lobby! 2. double showerheads 3. fluffy bedsheets Big drawback: walls are paper-thin. you can hear everything.

Not sure what city view means
The check in staff was friendly and the hotel and room were fantastic. However, I was in a city view room which apparently means a view of the office building 10 ft away. No view of the city at all. Not a huge deal since we weren't in our room much but still, it shouldn't be called a view at all. Amenities were good and had what we needed. One thing, though. For the money spent there should really be free wifi. It is free in the lobby but not in the rooms. If motel 6 can give free wifi, I'm sure the Westin could as well.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how lovely this hotel was - I got more than I had expected. The building has character and my room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were courteous and helpful. It's centrally located in downtown Mpls near many theaters and restaurants. Definitely recommend!
