Good, not Grand

Everything was nice and clean, the room was just really small for a 4-star hotel. The TV for the tub was nothing special.

Grand Hotel Minneapolis

The kind service. I loved the bathroom in the hotel, that alone was worth the price of the room.

Incredible value for a luxury hotel

Great hotel and a real value compared with other big hotels in Minneapolis. Clean room with beautiful furnishings. Large bathroom with separate shower & large tub with television. Turn down service with chocolates is a nice touch. Free coffee delivered to your room in the morning or available in the lobby. Nice robes. I have stayed in several of the luxury hotels in Minneapolis and this has been the best thus far at a fantastic price.

Grand Hotel offers a grand getaway

My husband and I had our first no-kids weekend in 3+ years and the Grand Hotel did not disappoint! Very intimate atmosphere and wonderful accommodations in a "grown-up" setting. Fabulous 24-hour fitness center in-house. My favorite details in the room were the Godiva chocolate and comfy robe left on the bed daily. A few things to take note of that we wish we would have known: the hotel is part of the Minneapolis skyway system, but many of the skyways don't open until 9:30 a.m. on the weekends and close at 8 p.m., and parking isn't cheap ($20 per night).

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Skyways don't open until 9:30 a.m. on the weekends and close at 8 p.m. Many of the cafes and restaurants in the buildings connected by the skyways aren't open on the weekends. If you visit during the cold winter months, plan your dining/shopping route before you leave the hotel.

Grand?

The main reason we chose to stay at the Grand Hotel was because of the beautiful photo of the pool and the promise of sauna, exercise area. The hotel staff was not notified by the folks that actually own these things that they would be closed at 2pm New Year's Eve and only open a few hours New Year's day. The hotel has a strange idea of what is important--no refrigerator or microwave or coffee maker but TV encase in the wall above the tub. A fancy looking bed and bathroom scale, but no easy chair. Local calls are $1--for 10 minutes!

Not as advertised

Advertised aveda products which they didn't have. Touted as clean - pubic hair on the bath salts. Room small - was upgraded after called to complain. Best feature was access to Lifetime Fitness. Would stay at the Marquette or Westin next time. Got lost in the skyway- the other hotels easier to find from skyway - was provided no maps until complained. No guest services info in room - no hours of pool, no menu.

Excellent...very classy hotel!!

Stayed her for a Vikings game, staff was pleasent and helpful. The double head shower was awesome, usually at hotels the showers are horrible(very little water pressure)...so I was impressed! I go to a Vikings game every year...so will be returning.

Wonderful Hotel!

Super visit to Minneapolis! My first time and I couldn't be more impressed. Clean city, good public transportation & many things to see and do. Many pubs and restaurants downtown. Safe to walk too. Took the train to the Mall of America. Don't miss a chance to see it- you won't believe it! Go Vikings! Hotel is top notch!
