Mall of America. Take the bus to Light Rail and transfer to Light Rail (south-bound) to the end! It would definitely take you more than one day if you wanted to go through each store in the mall.

Try The Local -- an Irish Pub just down the street. Great beers on tap, including my fave Leinenkugel's, though I tried a Summit this time and it was great. This place has the best Walleye sandwich I have ever had in my life. Get it. Good fries, too:)

Location is the only strength.
JCC Oct 12, 2009
I was there for the career fair. The staff is pretty nice and the hotel location is very close to the convention center and ... the main street. Hence, it's very easy for me to go anywhere from the hotel. However, the room facilities are pretty awful and old. No microwave, no refrigerator, old bathroom, old iron & iron-board, and old hairdryer. Breakfast and internet are excluded from the room fee which I think is not reasonable.

I would stay here again!
Steffie B Oct 6, 2009
Great location right on Nicollet Mall downtown -- took a train from the airport and then walked a few blocks, but you can ... also take a clean, environmentally friendly, and frequent bus. Took the Super Shuttle on the way back, which was very convenient. Staff at the hotel are super helpful and friendly, answered my every request and question. Great comforter on my king size bed, window opens!, on demand movies and HBO on my giant tv.. I was happy:) All the amenities here, including a raucous bar after the MNF game. But the room itself was VERY quiet and clean, although could use a little updating. I would def stay here again.

Not impressed
Johnson Oct 6, 2009
The purpose of my visit to the Hotel was for pleasure and enjoyment. I was not overly impressed with the promptness of the ... staff in certain situations. I felt the "amenities" for a "luxury" hotel as advertised were very week. Rooms were small and the bathrooms were small as well. Television channels were limited in the hotel, parking was expensive for guests and prices were high for food and drinks. Don't believe I will be staying at this hotel in the future.

The Most Horrible Hotel Stay in My Life
Freddy Sep 8, 2009
There was no refrigerator for my insulin. There are no vending machines with food to help me snack until morning. I had to ... drive 35 miles @ 04:30 to eat when my blood sugar started dropping. There was no furniture to sit in. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The room was tiny. They demanded $25 @ night security deposit, which I should have been told about before I booked the hotel. The trival charges they try to sneak and have you incur are absurd. I will not get any of my refurnd back for 4 - 5 weeks. We checked out early and went to a Country Inn near the Mall of the Americas we were so upset. We paid almost double to Country Inn. But there were no hidden charges. And we are extremely happy about our stay with Country Inn. Country Inn will refund my deposit in 4 - 5 days. There is absolutely no excuse for a Corporation like this to nickel and dime customers. I feel that most hookers and drug dealers provide better customer service.
