Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites MINNEAPOLIS (GOLDEN VALLEY)

Bravo to the staff at the Holiday Inn Express in Golden Valley. Very friendly and easy check-in. Forgot toothpaste, went to the front desk, and they gave me some toothpaste as well as a couple of bottles of water after asking where I could get some bottled water. My only complaint was that it was kind of loud (kids running in the hallways late into the night and traffic outsitde). Not too much the hotel can do about that though. I will definetely stay there again.

For the most part, the stay was just what I needed. I did end up using the alarm on my phone as I could not figure out how to set the one provided. The room accomodations were swell, and I received the best sleep I've had in a long time. The only sleep inhibitor was when the fire alarm went off at 1:00am. Turned out to be a sprinkler problem, but it was a rude awakening. The other thing that was somewhat disappointing was the fitness room was on one end of the building and the pool was near the lobby. I'd prefer these two areas to be closer together. As such, I did not make use of the pool area.

The bed in the hotel was wonderful but it was somewhat sad that hot tub was not working. My husband & I definitely needed that. Plus we did have to call the front desk to have noise stopped above us since it seemed to be a herd of elephants in the room above us.

The staff and shuttle service stood out as excellent for the trip. I was quite pleased with the room and the breakfast was exceptional. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to join the happy hour but will try to attend on the next trip to Minneapolis.

It was super quiet and comfortable. I came here to meet up with my best-friend. She had suggested it as she has stayed here before. It was well worth coming again.

Apparently, not all Holiday Inn Express and Suites are the same. The beds were terribly uncomfortable, so we didn't get any sleep. This, also, led to us being sore the rest of our trip. The sinks in the bathroom were down to our knees, which made simple things, like brushing your teeth, hard to do. The first room we were assigned had cobwebs in the corners, but after a room change to the third floor, it was cleaner.

We were there for a skateboard competition and the park was close. We were given a room on the first floor next to an entrance and exit door and the fitness center. All day and night people were using this door and it was very loud. Some of the people going out went right outside our window to smoke, talk and use their cell phones. The hotel was sold out. The room next to ours had a weekend birthday party and there were over 20 people going in and out that door. I asked at the front desk which room they had the most complaints with noise about and she stated the room number that we were in. The room was never vacummed in our 6 day stay and I had to go to the front desk because both rolls of toilet paper had been used and not replaced by cleaning staff. I was also told that we would be brought a roll away bed and never received it. We stayed at this hotel the year before and there were none of these problems.

We arrived about 9:30 p m and were greeted by 2 friendly knowledgeable desk associates. Our 5:15 a m wake up call was on time and friendly. Morning b'fast was simple, healthy and tasty. Every associate of the hotel was friendly, great way to start a long day!

Nice, clean room. Would have liked to have an HDTV, but it was a nice room and stay.
