best price/quality in Twin Cities
Very nice staff. The hotel feels safe, it is clean and (to me) comfortable. Free parking, free minivan to downtown is a plus. Bust stop in front of hotel. If you come from MSP, just take the light rail train from the airport to the main library downtown and in less than a block the bus #16 to the hotel (total cost $1.75 in non-peak hours, for both rides). I have been to several (much more expensive) hotels and when I found this one, I am sticking to it.

The free bus service is gold
Although the hotel is a little off the free bus service to downtown makes it a perfect choice if you want to save some money while staying in Minneapolis.

Up for WCHA Men's Hockey Tournament 2012
When we arrived check-in was easy and the room clean and ready. Decent neighborhood right accross the street from new Gopher football stadium with plenty of bars and restaurantts available. We also had our 2 grandchildren (9 mo and 21 mo) with us. The free breakfast was nice to help with feeding them and the fridge in the double room was awesome. A shame that micros are available only in the queen rooms, that would have been a plus for us. Would go back to this hotel for hockey or football games - Go Badgers

great location for me
As always, very pleased with my accomodations. And delighted to discover this time that the hotel's breakfast facility had doubled in space, was attractively remodeled, and offered a wider range of options. BRAVO! I am disappointed, however, with what apparently is the new policy of "doubling" rates on weekends when a UofM football game is scheduled in the brand new stadium adjacent to the hotel property.

Surdyk's Cheese/Deli/Liquor Store, also on Unversity Avenue. Great way to stock your in-room refrigerator for late night snacks.

OK for an overnighter
If you have a college student at U of M, this is an ok place to stay. The best part is that there's free parking, and the hotel is within walking distance to the campus. Also, they must still have "smoking" rooms because the oder was quite strong. Staff was very friendly.

My time at Day Inn Hotel, Minneapolis
Well, the hotel is good...the efficiency of the staffs, their friendliness, helpfullness, etc, are all examplary of american effciency. Everything when smooth and easy, and we had been happy to tip them for their transportations etc. One thing though, I wish some of the staffs smile more readily at times, to make us feel at home for our 2 weeks there. The breakfast should improve, however; there have been only carbohydrate/butter/coffee and drinks only, plus simple fruits....none of meat and eggs and all remain the same variety in our stays, which is a disappointment. In short, it was a nice stay.

Best deal in Milleapolis/Saint Paul area
Five stars taking into account value. Four stars when comparing it to $300 a night hotels. Perfect location, good public transportation, very friendly and efficient staff, quiet room, reasonable breakfast, good-size room, free parking, university-style neighborhood. Clean and comfortable. Best price/quality ratio in the Mineeapolis/Saint Paul area. Internet speed about 1Mbps. Three computers for customers in hotel lobby. There are children at the hotel, but there are not many amenities for them. This is my first stay at this hotel, it won't be my last one

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Short and easy drive (just take University Avenue, no detours) to Saint Paul, about 25 minutes away during construction (for one or two more years, I guess). You can also take the bus (same itinerary, same estimated time)
