Family business in Minneapolis
Very quiet, clean, comfortable hotel in downtown Minneapolis. It's 3 blocks from the warehouse district of where there are excellent bars and restaurants! Use the skyway like I did on the cold days and you don't have to worry about the weather. Can't beat the price either as it is a little bit cheaper than the other hotels in the same area.

Wlaking distance to all the great restaurants and bars and again one can use the Minneapolis Skyway system to get to your location or close to it so that one can avoid the weather if it is cold!

Good location for Vikings game
Restaurant was a bit pricy but maybe not for the big city. Other than that, stay was enjoyable. Location was a short 5-6 block walk from Metrodome. Many guests were there for the game. Cookies and milk at 10pm was a huge hit and the cookies came warm right out of the oven!

Excellent for the Price
Clean, comfortable rooms, Nice pool and hot tub. Friendly staff. Excellent location. All at a price far less than other downtown hotels. I've stayed at the Normandy several times and will likely stay there again.

Retro feel
We stayed here while we were in town for a conference. Staying here saved us a bundle vs. staying at the conference hotel. Nice location--a little away from the downtown hustle and bustle, but within a reasonable walking distance. Common areas have a nice retro feel--think rat pack days updated. Friendly, helpful staff. Only a few blocks from the light rail Government Plaza stop. No need to rent a car at the airport. Our room had a mini-fridge and microwave. My only complaint was that the bed was a little too soft. Would consider staying here again.

"Black Bamboo" asian restaurant near the hotel is not fancy, but quite delicious. If you've got kids, they've got corn dogs.

Nice couple of nights
It was a "pleasure stay," with a little business thrown in. The staff was great, and accommodated us by stowing and unstowing our bikes several times. It would have been nice to have free parking and some sort of breakfast, but we knew part of that going in. Minor annoyances: a very loud A/C fan, and we didn't know about the room-darkening drapes until we checked out. We'd go back, though!

Good place to stay close to convention center
The check-in process was slow. The front desk clerk was rude but got us checked in with no issues. The rooms were not attractive but were VERY clean and the beds were very comfy. Large flat screen TV, desk, chair, ottoman, desk, 2 queen beds, bath, etc. Pretty typical Best Western. It was however VERY clean. I even moved the night table to access the plug and there was no dust or grossness ;-) They have an over-priced restaurant and bar downstairs but there are many more restaurants in downtown Minneapolis worth visiting first. Room service charges a 17% fee + 3.00 service charge. Ridiculous. It is cozy, kind of dark but that is because it is a "theme" hotel that I think is supposed to look like a old european inn. Not really sure. Would stay here again.

If you don't have a car the cheapest way to get here from airport is to take the light rial from Humphrey terminal to the Gov't Plaza stop. 1.75 per person. Hotel is three blocks away. Also, Minneapolis has over a hundred Easy Ride bike terminals. Visitors can rent a bike for $5 per day (not available in the winter) and explore the city easily! The city is REALLY flat and the #2 bike-friendly city in the U.S. This was the best part of our trip!

Nice Hotel
Hotel was very nice, comfortable rooms with all the amentites needed. Location was pretty good. About 4 block walk to downtown Restaurants. Fairly close to Convention Center also. Staff was very polite and efficient. Nice Bar and Restaurant in hotel also. I would definetly stay again. Only complaint was Maid was cleaning a room right across from ours at 5:30 in the morning. Vacuuming and clanging dishes. Could have picked a better time!! Check-in and Check-out was quick and easy.
