Comfort Inn Mankato

Wasn't able to check in as soon as I would have liked(my fault)in order to enjoy the pool but nice, decent hotel. I was close to the end of the hallway and did hear some loud door slamming as people went in and out. Breakfast was decent with waffles and cereal choices. I will stay here again.

I think the mess-up we ecountered with our room was due to [...] not passing on the special requests (at least that is what the motel said). We specifically asked for a 1st floor room as neither my elderly mother nor I am able to climb stairs as well as a non-smoking room because my mother has COPD and what we got was a 2nd floor smoking room in a motel with no elevator. We checked in very late and there were no other rooms that night. Also the first thing my mother noticed was the dirty sock that belonged to someone else on the floor at the foot of one of the beds. We paid for a room with two queen beds and because of the mess-up a friend who happens to be someone prominent from Hollywood stepped in and made a call to the motel and using his own credit card held a room for us for the next morning however it was a room with one queen bed and a rollaway. I have serious neck and spinal problems and was unable to sleep well for the next two nights. [...] want to know who is responsible for the refund we are owed for the downgrade in rooms and the fact that our first night was spent in the only room available to us and it was completely unacceptable being as it was difficult for us to get to and made breathing difficult for my mother not to mention that disgusting sock!! I feel our first night should have been complimentary and our next to nights should be discounted. I will be calling [...] and Comfort Inn's customer service lines tomorrow.

dad's wedding--housekeeping staff was great and very helpful with clean towels, etc.

Even though my reservation was made 6 months in advance of our stay, my request for non-smoking rooms (which appeared on my confirmation) could not be fulfilled, and after a short side trip after check-in, we returned to the Inn to find that one of our rooms had been given to another party ... the keys issued to us wouldn't operate the door! When questioning the staff, I found that a "shift change" had occurred, and total confusion engulfed my reservation, it's duration, and even the name which had been entered for the rooms we had been put into! I don't think we'll return ...

The Comfort Inn Mankato needs some work on it's rooms and building. The front desk clerk when I checked in in the evening was unfriendly but the ones in the morning were nice. The rooms are not very sound proof I could hear just about every noise in the place.

The speed of the check in with the friendly gal was great. When we went to our room, we were amased on the spacious room that we had, ours was a king. The kids enjoyed the pool, not big but just right for them. The halls were quiet as well as the night time. This hotel is within walking distance to malls, stores of all kind and almost every restaurant that you can think of.
