We are conveniently located at the intersection of Highway 14 and Highway 169. Behind the property is the beautiful Hinicker Pond, which offers fishing and swimming. Bike, ski, snow tube the trails at Mount Kato within minutes of the motel. Indoor property, 2 levels, interior corridors. We offer 50 guest rooms with single, double and triple occupancies. OK if just looking for a place to crash.

A friend and I were looking for a cheap place to stay that also offered a continental breakfast. I stayed at a Budget Host in Colorado that wasn't bad at all, but this place was different. If you're just looking for a place to crash (like we were), then this place will suffice. If you're staying more than a day or two, though, I highly recommend spending a little more to stay at a different hotel just so you can have a cleaner bathroom. We both thought the bathroom could be updated. That is, it was a little gross: there was mildew on some of the tiles and the fixtures were rusted. I'm assuming the brown water that would first flow from the tub was due to the rusty fixture, since it would clear after the first few minutes. That was the main gross thing. I have stayed at hostels in both Europe and the U.S., so I'm not necessarily turned off by a hotel just because it's less than perfect. However, I feel like the bathroom at this Budget Host ranks below any hostel bathroom I've used. I'm really glad to be back home with my bathroom tonight! Another thing...when I reserved online, I requested 2 double beds, yet when we arrived, they gave us a king bed. They switched it for us, but that did require us to wait about 30 minutes.

Dirty night

The room had cobwebs and dirt hanging from the ceiling. We had a dirty towel in the bathroom. The place was very noisy...thin walls, I guess you get what you pay for...would not stay here again. Also, the place was wide open to the public...no security on the doors. The motel's description in [...] was misleading...there was NO entertainment or live music in this place...'buyer beware'.

Godd location & rates.

If you are just looking for a inexpensive place to crash after a night on the town in Mankato it works. They were nice & upgraded me for free to a king size bed.

Five nite stay

Friendly, helpful mgr. We enjoyed the paths around the lakes. Lacked proper drains in bathroom

Mankato Budget host experience

Price was reasonable, thanks Orbitz. The room smelled of smoke, but otherwise I was satisfied.

Really Rundown

The Budget Host Inn Mankato was very rundown and tired looking. The lobby furniture was worn and dirty looking, it smelled like smoke and old food. My room was clean but every thing was worn. The ceiling had water stains.
