In the beginning, the first staff member appeared uninterested and although I spoke clearly, they kept asking me to repeat myself. Then upon opening the door to our room, we noticed no lakeside view (which was what we had reserved) and no
refrigerator. We were able to go for a hike and swimming but when wanting to go to the live music in the in-house pub, the minimal seating and over-priced food was a definite repellent for dinner and the "buffet" breakfast. We ended up driving to Grand Marais which with gas and final meal price, overall cost less than one entree in the dining room at Lutsen. Waking up early for the sunrise and being able to be 50 yards from a bald eagle was priceless but when we went back to the room to find no water pressure or hot water, it took away from previous experiences. If you are planning on going to Lutsen Resort, know that it is a good get-away but plan for the bare minimum at a pricy cost.

If you are willing to pay $10 for a plate of food which constitutes as their "buffet", a salad for $15, or an entree for $25+, this would be your place...if not, the drive to My Sisters Place in Grand Marais is worth it.
