Cheap Getaway
The staff were amazing! Prices for food were okay, and the room was comfortable, if not the cleanest I've ever seen. Internet was sketchy, though to be fair I didn't contact guest services to try to solve the problem. Right next to restaurants, gas station, and liquor store. The scenery was beautiful. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap getaway.

Water park, lots of fun...room cleanliness, not so much...
The Edge in Duluth was a mixed experience. The staff was amazing. So busy, yet pleasant, helpful, and quite accommodating, even though they were understaffed. The water park was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed it! The breakfast was fantastic, although it was really crowded...but it was spring break. The room...not so good. It was too warm and we couldn't adjust the temperature, there was a pack of cigarettes and a bottle of water under the bed, left from the previous occupants, there were tiles on the ceiling damaged by water, the wall paper was peeling where the pieces joined together, the bathtub wasn't clean, and there were ants on the bathroom floor. All in all, I think I would try it again when it wasn't spring break and not crazy busy, but we did have a good time.

I'd bring some food along for dinner, as the prices in the water park were quite exorbitant.

NEVER AGAIN - A ruined special occasion weekend.
I've been staying at the Edgewater twice a year since the late '80's (pre-waterpark). This time, for our 20th Anniversary weekend, I upgraded to a 2-room King Whirlpool Suite. Besides our Anniversary, I was looking forward to some quiet time after have a full Hip-replacement 1 month prior. Unfortunately, our stay was neither quiet or relaxing. We loved the suite, however the children staying in the suite above us were being allowed to run back and forth across the floor non-stop and jumping off the furniture (bed, couch, chairs, etc.) thus landing on the floor - BOOM - over and over again. Right away I called the front deck to see what could be done. The front-desk clerk informed me that they would contact the offending suite regarding the disturbance. Nothing changed, in fact it got louder instead of quiet. The second time I called the front desk they said that thay would call the offending suite again. Immediately after the front-desk called them, the parents of these out-of-control children told the children to go and jump off the couch four times in a row. At this point I realized that the accomodation would not work for anyone seeking even the slightest amount of quiet. This time I went to the front desk in-person to arrange for a different room. "We're almost completely full - so many Hockey players in town for the weekend..." Right - I'm sure all of those Hockey players are taking up your King Whirlpool Suites. So instead of Managment holding the parents responsible for the actions of their "monster children" - we got downgraded. A LOT. We were offered a room at the "Edgewater Express" - across the road and down the block from the waterpark location. It was a bare-bones King room with a couch and a refrigerator ONLY. I was so disapponted that I broke out in tears before we were unpacked. The heating system in the "new-room" had a short and was constantly switching between HEAT and AIR CONDITIONING. The center of the King bed was about 8 inches lower than the sides so we slept at an angle - not flat. They need to FIRE their entire maintenance team and start over. The Edgewater caters to the needs of Children - not Adults. We will not be spending another DIME at the Edgewater after this fiasco. Save yourself the hassle and get a day-pass to the waterpark instead of staying at the Resort/Hotel. That is, unless you enjoy being awakened by noisy children at all hours of the day and night.

Fun Overnight Get-A-Way
We had a lovely stay at The Edge. We were looking for a night in Duluth to enjoy. The staff was great, the room was large (could use some updating - bathroom, sheets/blankets, stiff bed, carpet) and activities were great! The waterpark and outdoor pool were FUN! And although we didn't get to do all the activities, just knowing that an outside movie, air-brush tatoos, the jumpers/bouncer, roasting marshmallows, an arcade and miniture golf was an option was great for the price. The breakfast time (waiting for a table) was a little long but if we had gone earlier (it was at 8:30am)or later, might not have been so bad. Ultimately we had a great time and it was well worth the money (we booked just hours before we showed up). Dispite the few complaints, my family will definitely stay at THE EDGE again.

good for kids around 4 to 7
The hotel seemed clean and had lots to do. It is probably much better in summer when you can do lots more of the outdoor activities as well. However, I would not go here on the weekend. We stayed on a tues and wed and it was perfect because the pool did not have as many kids but when thurs came around the pool was packed and you couldn't do the lazy river etc.. due to all the kids.

Fun for kids
The two kids had a blast! The water park was ok, but not being spectacular made it easier for us to get the kids to leave for a while and have fun by the lake. The price was good for the hotel and its ammenities. I really liked that there was a lot to do - the water park, hot tub, mini golf course. And they had ok food and a variety of beverages to choose from.
