Welcome to the Brainerd Hotel and Conference Center. In 1970, Ray Madison began planning what would become the Holiday Inn Brainerd, the Brainerd Lakes area*s first destination full-service hotel. Featuring a large indoor pool, sauna and whirlpool tub, outdoor tennis court and video game room, the hotel quickly became a favorite Brainerd Lakes getaway destination for families from throughout the Midwest. Since then, the hotel has been known as the Brainerd Ramada and the Red Roof Inn Brainerd. On July 6, 2010, a previous owner, knowing the value and potential of Brainerd*s only full-service hotel, reacquired the property and renamed it The Brainerd Hotel and Conference Center, pledging to once again offer clean, affordable hotel rooms, great amenities for visiting families and professional meeting facilities for events. In addition to a large indoor swimming pool, The Brainerd Hotel and Conference Center boasts 148 guest rooms, flexible meeting space for up to 280 people, complimentary high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel and great service from our professional and friendly staff. With some of the best prices in the area, we think you*ll agree, The Brainerd Hotel and Conference Center is a great value. The Brainerd Hotel and Conference Center is conveniently located across the street from the Brainerd Medical Center and less than a mile from the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds. Within a five minute drive, you can shop downtown Brainerd, visit Central Lakes College, Saint Joseph*s Medical Center, Paul Bunyan Trail, Crow Wing County Courthouse, Northland Arboretum or the Brainerd Civic Center. Brainerd Lakes Airport is five miles from the hotel. Within a 30 minute drive, you can visit Brainerd International Raceway, home of the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, Camp Ripley and the Minnesota Military Museum, or try one of the areas award-winning golf courses. Brainerd*s area lakes are an easy drive from the hotel, including Gilbert Lake, Long Lake and...

Nothing Special

The Brainerd Hotel is just your basic, low cost hotel/motel. The room was clean but there was nothing special about it. The breakfast that was included was below average.

You get what you pay for...

The pictures in the description of the hotel are not accurate. It is dirty, dingy and a bit scary. My husband and I woke up stuck in the middle of the bed because there was NO support...terrible mattress. Won't ever ever ever go back. This is what happens when you go to the cheapest hotel you can find.

Good hotel

This was a good place to stay for the money. The room was clean and pleasant and the staff were great. This obviously a former motel, my room had both a door to the parking lot and to the hallway. The room showed its age a bit (probably 1960s, 1970s), although it had obviously been updated. The hotel is located a mile or two south of downtown in the older area of town and to local places to eat (it's not on the more recently developed strip area on the west side of town with all its big box stores and chain restaurants).

OK Stay

Nothing special, but will work in a pinch. Marginal rooms, decent restaurant. Staff was friendly. Not a terrible value though.

It was a typical Minnesota evening. The roads were horrible and cars in the ditch every five miles. We drove with white knuckles for about 1 and 1/2 hours and got to the hotel at 10pm. The pool usually closes at 10, but Tom at the front desk said he would let us use the facilities, as we were VERY tense and needed the hot tub in a big way. Thanks staff! We had a great stay!

One night on business

Rooms aren't fancy but perfectly fine if you're looking for something clean, comfortable, roomy and quiet. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Breakfast in the restaurant was outstanding. You get a choice of three complementary breakfasts with your room - or $2 off the regular menu. Waitress even offered to fill my coffee thermos before I left.

Good place in Brainerd.

I have stayed at this hotel three times. Each time I go up to crosby to scuba dive. It is a great hotel, comfortable, clean, and a good deal. I was slightly disappointed that they cut out the continental breakfast, and instead offer a "complimentary breakfast", that is meager at best. But overall, I was pleased, and I plan on staying here again.
