Excellent value
Polite staff. Complimentary juice during checking. Room was very good. The little pastry shop was awesome. The fitness center was fine - modern equipment and the room was big enough. It would have been nice if the hotel had a pool. Also, at the end of our stay they emailed me some other guest's receipt.

Good for weekend and business travel
Room was clean, comfortable, and a good value. Restaurant and bakery were good. Gym was very average with treadmills which only went 4.5 mph maximum. Hotel was very close to a busy freeway.

Enjoyable Stay
My 9 yr old daughter and I stayed at the Sofitel recently while in the Twin Cities visiting family. We loved the French flair of the hotel and the boutique-like touches. A wonderful aroma from scented candles greets you each day in the lobby, and the staff welcome you with a "Bon Soir" or "Bon Jour". Our favorite was the charming little patisserie on the main floor, where we bought scrumptious croissants and pastries to share with relatives. Dinner at Colette one evening was memorable. Our room was stylishly decorated and clean. The lack of a swimming pool was disappointing to my daughter. Every staff person we interacted with was personable and helpful. Overall, a great experience here. Close to major freeways, airport, and attractions.

The croissants and pastries at the hotel bakery are really, really good. Loved the atmosphere at Colette. If you eat there, I recommend the 4-course plate.

nice hotel, but prepared to be gouged
hotel was nice enough, clean, tasteful, helpful staff. The problem I had was with the nickel-and-dime way they made me feel gouged. $10/day for internet access - in this day and age even Motel6 has free wifi!!! No coffee maker in the rooms, and wouldnt you know it, you need to shell out $5 at their coffee shop to get a little cup of coffee to go. Not the money, its the feeling of being taken advantage of that I didnt appreciate. Wont be going there again.

Sleepless in Mineapolis.
The hotel public areas, staff, and cleanliness were the redeeming features. The quality of our room was something else. Our first night we were kept awake by the voices and crying in the room next to us. The second night the noise changed to coughing all night long. The beds were uncomfortable and had only a down comforter that was too hot. The bathroom had one towel bar...on the INSIDE of the shower door. Towels got wet when showering and inconvenient to get to when not. The small make-up mirror attached to the wall would have been useful had it been capable of extending out and was too low even for someone 5'3". The only settee/couch was narrow and hard. Luxury hotel----NOT.

Nice hotel
The beds were probably the most comfortable I have ever slept in. However, internet should be free and charging $10 a day isn't right anymore.

Not for Dieters
The primary purpose was to visit a person under Hospice care. The Hotel was a bright light in our day. We thoroughly enjoyed the Hotel restaurant, its staff and wine selections. We had two terrific dinners and two delicious breakfasts. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict for breakfast. The fois gras was a great way to start out dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the lamb chops and the veal medallions. They also gave our little dog a warm welcome.

Family getaway
The hotel was beautiful, outside the hustle and bustle of the city. About 10 minutes from Mall of America. The staff was amazing and the exercise room was very good, clean and wide variety of equipment. On the downside, there wasn't a coffee pot in the room, the room was nice, but a little small. For the price it was right up our alley, next time will be a little more thorough in reading the amenities so that some of the basics get covered.

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
If you are planning on going into minneapolis or st. paul, the closest light rail is at the Mall of America. You could drive, or take a taxi (very reasonable) board the L at MOA, the time into downtown is about 30 min, but you will save a fair amount of money if you travel this way instead of using taxi's back and forth or driving and trying to find parking which can also cost $$.
