Mall of America Family Trip Nov 29, 2009
Was a great hotel, was a little more than the surrounding hotels, but well worth the extra. Very nice quiet place to stay. TV ... had a lot of channels and HBO included in the room. Had two double beds and a sofa that pulled out into a bed. It was great having a bed for everybody.

You can see the Mall of America from the hotel and you could walk if you wanted, other wise about a 5 minute drive. The hotel has a shuttle you can take for free also to MOA or the airport several times a day.

Eat at the hotel only as a last resort -- MallOfAmerica eateries (i.e. 15-20 fast-type food & a few sitdown restaurants) as well as various chain restaurants are within 1/2 mile, and are well worth the short walk along American Avenue. Or, take a train into downtown Minneapolis ($2/fare, schedules vary) for charming local eateries (with ambience --appraently not in the Split Stone Grill's vocabulary).

Our stay was enjoyable. We had a room with bunk beds in it - sort of threw us off a little. Had a wonderful day at the spa. ... Staff was friendly. Will be back in a couple of weeks with our whole family again. Looking forward to that stay as well.

Fine for family but misses details
Business traveler Nov 25, 2009
ROOM: Overall was fine, but the pillows were lumpy, the bed poorly made and the shower head swivel was broken so it only ... pointed straight down unless you held it with your hand. FITNESS CENTER: The TVs had 100 channels of meaningless shows, all they need is Headline News and ESPN. Plus the room didn't have a water fountain or dispensable water & cups.

good room; poor restaurant
world traveller Nov 16, 2009
Overall, the hotel was OK for it's specific location and basic amenities -- bicycles for rent would be a nice touch (although ... the bus/train hub at the MOA is within 1/2 mile, for ventures into downtown Minneapolis & surrounding towns). The attached Split Stone Grill restaurant, however, is a different story: service was average, the menu itself was somewhere between college dorm food and basic basic bar fare (and showed little creativity), presentation showed zero imagination, and the food quality itself was bland and stale (but maybe was fresh a couple of days ago???). Measured against the Radisson (or equal) reputation & caliber, the restaurant failed miserably.

Only there for 1 night to stay over to fly out the next day. The service was excellent becauses they let us leave our car ... for the 3 days we were gone. My dad is in a wheelchair and when he couldn't use their airport shuttle they paid for the taxi to the airport! Would definitely stay there again.

wanted to go to waterpark, was to expensive on top of other charges. a complementry breakfast would be a good jester. their ... prices are very expensive. i paid $3 for a pop. because of the waterpark, people were roaming around in their swinsuits. ie, cleavege and men w/no shirts. accourding to their dress code this is not allowed, however it was not inforced. we found it to be offesive. the staff was very nice and professioal. that was very much appreciated. we would stay there again.

Bringing son to college Mom Sep 8, 2009
Quick overnight stay after driving son to nearby college. Very comfortable room, spacious and nicely appointed. Front desk ... staff was extremely helpful. Offered to print off my boarding pass when I didn't even realize they had that capability. Convenient early am shuttle got me to the airport in plenty of time, driver was friendly. Had a relaxing and well prepared meal in the Split Rock Cafe, wait staff was attentive. Overall, my brief stay was excellent and I would stay here again.

Good hotel, snooty front desk
pebbles66 Aug 25, 2009
The hotel was really nice, but the front desk staff were not friendly and they were really just there to be snooty, it ... seemed. Perhaps they were busy and didn't really have time for anyone. We bought tickets for water park, but didn't end up going because we had an early flight to catch. Couldn't get a refund on the wrist bands, which was kind of a bummer. I think I got a pretty good price from cheaptickets, though. The room was really nice and spacious, even though there wasn't much of a view or anything as we got a 2nd floor room - the window looked out at a kids' water slide. Wouldn't want to go back simply because of the service.
