Holiday Inn Baxter
The people were great! Everyone was so friendly. It is also very clean. The only down fall for me, was there is no restaraunt. Only food available is at the waterpark snack bar. They do have a full bar there at the snack bar though.

We stayed one night to get out of the city. Easy to find right off the highway. Whereever you are going this hotel was located in great place. Lots of famiily/kids because of the waterpark. Thought it would be noisy during the night, but it was very quiet. Not much to do at waterpark for adults other than sit in the adult hot tub. Morning breakfast is one of the best, and there was enough food for everyone. Beds were very comfy, clean room, and they were all nonsmoking! Room price automatically includes waterpark. Should have separate rate for room only.

Go to Pequot Lakes and do the maze/minigolf. Really fun. On way back you can stop at Nisswa and shop the distinct local businesses, be careful, some are spendy.

Great room
We had a day visit to Brainerd and did some mini golf and go carts. Heavy rains cancelled our horseback ride. Great location off Hwy. 371. Close to many things. Hotel has a water park that is geared towards kids. However, there is one hot tub that is only for adults which was nice. No swimming pool. Gets pretty loud in waterpark with kids. Noise in hotel hallways were at a minimum. We had a very quiet/restful sleep. Complimentary breakfast is one of the best I've had at a hotel. Pricing automatically includes waterpark. No separate rate for room only. Business center only has one computer. Not sure if they had wifi.

Drive to Pequot Lakes and go to Wildwedge mini golf/maze. They also have regular golf course. On way back you can stop at Nisswa and go to the local shops. Pirates Cove mini golf/go carts is fun, but costs a bit more.

A good experience
Used as a base to sightsee. Breakfast was very good; room was clean and quiet; staff was quite helpful in getting us settled. We are in our eighties and on our honeymoon so, needed some help with luggage and an unfamiliar rented car.

Holiday Inn Express Hotel Brainerd-Baxte
I would like to have seen better quality pillows, maybe a memory foam and a soft pillow. The Bed and pillows seemed a little worn or tired.

Impressive accomodations
Holiday Inn Express Baxter provides rich carpeting that is good condition. The room was comfortable and the pillows on the beds were a mixture of firm and soft. First time I have encountered pillowcases embroidered with the density of the pillows. The location enabled us to visit an old family homestead and take in a lot of family type activities. In the morning or later in the evening the kids were able to take advantage of the indoor waterpark. Restaurants were plentiful and within a short driving distance to the hotel. The continental breakfast offered a fairly wide selection of items for the entire family.

The Brainerd International Raceway was just down the highway probably within 5 miles. Pirate's Cove offered minigolf or go karts. There are also a few golf courses close by and the Paul Bunyan park for the kids. The City of Brainerd has a theme to find the Babe (Paul Bunyan's Ox). You find various decorated ones all over the city.
