Good for the price

For the price paid (on average $45/night) the Met is a good deal. You can tell it's starting to show its age, but the rooms are clean enough, and if you are just looking for a place to sleep it's just right. The parking lot is dark and remote from the hotel. No breakfast service. The biggest complain would be some of the other guests. A lot of loitering around entrances, noise, and smoking in the hallways Pros: Friendly front desk staff, clean room, comfortable bed, good location, decent gym/pool/sauna facilities Cons: Cigarette smoke smell in hallways, rooms show age, no breakfast, poor lighting in parking lots, long distance to parking lot, poor sound proofing (room to hallway), limited tv station choices (many are fuzzy), climate control not accurate

Time-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Since the hotel is surrounded by business parks, there are not many close restaurants/stores. There are no refrigerators in the rooms, so buy non-perishable snacks and foods you may want before you get there.

Disappointed Returning Guest

We have stayed numerous times at this hotel and was always treated well, and any problems were handled immediately. This time, very, very disappointed. Our TV's remote did not work, the TV's reception had snowy picture on each channel. The room was very rundown. And, I was charged some ridiculous fee for reserving room through a third party. Have, never, ever got charged a fee and have booked numerous times through a third party. Will think twice, about staying again.

Bad stay

This hotel room was horrible. Our bed sheets were dirty and stained. The headboard was broken, we were not provided with any soap or shampoo and the bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned for days. To top it off the staff was rude. I thought It would be safer to stay away from downtown Detroit, but honestly I think I would have been better to stay downtown. I will never stay here again.

Pretty good

For the price it is a pretty good hotel. It's surrounded by many restaurants and stores so there's plenty to do! I used this place as a weekend getaway and it was perfect for that. I stayed in the king bed suite with a balcony. It came with a couch that flipped into a bed, a regular tv (not flat screen), an extra chair and a desk. The room was pretty clean, the carpet had a few stains on it, the room is a little outdated but hey, for the price that's what you get. Overall I had a good experience, oh yea the heated pool was cool and there's a little fitness room too. For the price it's doable.

good family gateway

The hotel was very nice. Very courteous staff. There was no thermostat to control A/c. A/C kept on shutting off which made the night sleep uncomfortable. The price was excellent.

Good Location

The hotel is nice for it's age and located for attending events in the Detroit area. The rooms were large, however, the bathroom is small and needed to be cleaned. The pool area was nice (no hot tub) and the workout room was nice with a good choice of equipment but not air conditioned. We would book again.

Perfect place for us

We checked in late and there was someone awake at the desk and they were pleasant. Parking was full, but overflow was not far (lateness). Could not hear neighbors in morning (as we needed to sleep in). Bathroom was very clean. Beds and pillows were very comfortable.
