Traverse City Getaway

A decent beach hotel, expect some sand in the hallways here and there. Close to Jet Skis, Parasail, etc. Right on beach, in fact. Restaurant was crowded and service seemed slow. Good location on East Bay. Amazing view in the morning. Parking was crowded at times.

Needs Swimming Buoys! Nice Beach & Hotel.

Beach - We found the beach to be very nice on our arrival, but we noticed an issue as we went through each day. Numerous Boats & PWCs were anchoring right in the swimming area. To be clear, these were NOT the rental boats available on site, these were private vehicles that had simply moored in the swimming area. At one point during our stay 6 boats were all anchored within 25 yards of the beach. Imagine trying to swim on a small private beach and having to navigate around 6 boats along with their anchors, lines, & buoys! Laying out a couple of swimming buoys would go a long way to helping out the situation. Rooms - The amenities listed are all provided and the mini-fridges are excellent for drinks and food. The view from our beachfront room was spectacular. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet when the balcony door was shut. The carpet was a bit dirty, but that seems to be the case with nearly all beach hotels. The WiFi was a bit spotty but they also provide a wired connection via ethernet for your PC. Food - The onsite lounge had some very nice drink specials and the food was very good. The problem in the lounge was the wait for food on both occasions we visited was VERY long. Over 45 minutes each time. On the other hand the entire menu was available for Room Service and the night we ordered to the room the wait was only 10 minutes??? Pleasant surprise. Rating Good - Overall I would rate the hotel 'Good'. I will probably return and see if the beach situation was an anomaly. Otherwise a very nice property that has one of the best locations in TC.

Parkshore Resort

Overall a good trip. Check in was a bit hectic as employees seemed to be a little bit more interested with taking phone calls and figuring out what they wanted for lunch then helping us. Only 3 negatives to say about the trip. Room was not restocked with soap/towels after our first night but after that it was not a problem. There was a large spider web in our room (spider included). Lastly the hot tub was not working and therefor the pH was off so it was unusable while we had our stay.

Friendly personnel & relaxing stay

Our room was 2nd floor with balcony facing beach and fantastic view of beautiful Michigan sunsets! The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were fantastic! The quality and portions of the food in the restaurant exceeded our exectations. Who knew Travers City was so affordable. Water and beach impeccable with water sport rentals right on the beach. Personnel were so helpful and reassurring that my 70 year old mother had a great time parasailing for the first time! I would definitely recommend the Parkshore for location and value and do plan to visit again! Next time hopefully we will have time to enjoy the fire pit on the beach in the evening....just so much to do!
