Had been to Traverse City several times for work and leisure but never stayed at Knights Inn. Had a king size bed that was extremely comfortable for my bad back and the room was equal to any I have stayed that were 2-3 times the price at a 3-4
star motel. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was pretty plain, cereal, donuts, bagels and yogurts, coffee and juice but satisfying. The prices will escalate substantially during tourist season but should be worth the cost yet still les than others. Definitely a place to consider.
My husband and I wanted to get away for a couple days, but to do it cheap. This was a very good place for the price! We paid a little extra to get a jacuzzi room. It wasn't anything too nice or fancy. The room was basic and there is only an
outdoor pool unfortunately. But it was very cheap, close to town, great staff and comfy beds. Would definitely go back.
The amenities were minimal at this hotel, but as described. The location to downtown was convenient and easy. The room was the biggest disappointment. The odor reminded me of an ashtray despite the no smoking placards that were found in the room.
The beds sagged in the middle. It appeared that the carpet hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time. However, the bathroom was very clean. The weather was chilly during the week I stayed, resulting in my room hovering in the high 50's to low 60's... The hotel had decided not to start up their heating system (brrrrrrrr) in case the weather warmed back up. Breakfast was minimal, but provided that quick bite before heading out for the day. I would be hard pressed to return.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
The Grand Traverse Pie Co. has some not-to-be-missed pie. It is worth going out of your way to get some.
Room was clean. Staff was pleasant. They had me sign agreement not to smoke on sidewalks in or around rooms. But on my way to room there was 2 people smoking in front of walkway to my room & across the parking lot next to someone else's room. I
thought the rooms were over priced but was cheaper than most others in the area.
Overall, we had a great experience. Friendly employees, very clean room & decent breakfast included. We would definitely stay here again, very close to downtown and the pool is nice. I love the impatiens planted on all the railings.
I think this hotel is a great value to stay at. Friendly staff, good air conditioning and close to many things in the city with it being quite central. No complaints from me, have stayed here several times.
The overall experience was good. The staff could've been a little friendlier, a little more accommodating. They weren't quite rude, but they were a little bruske. The room was plain but nice and clean. The beds, pillows, and linens were
comfortable. The set up of the room and the location of the motel were both quite convenient. We think it was a good room for the price.
