I've stayed here before and they're not sweating the details like they used to. Sure, the "Service Express" folks promptly ... fixed my clogged bathtub drain and replaced the moldy shower curtain, but the bath should be clean and fully functional BEFORE a guest checks in. Wallpaper in room needed regluing. An empty water glass was left on the floor on my corridor for nearly 24 hours before it was removed. $14.95 per day for Internet seems high, particularly when some less costly hotels nearby offer it for free.

Does Not Live Up to Its Brand

I Was in town to celebrate a milestone birthday near the city of my birth. The Westin had a decent rate through [...] so I ... booked the room.I had a problem with the bed linen change request. I notified the appropriate people that the request had not been honored and they brought sheets to my room to leave them as if I was going to do it. Needless to say I was appalled and insulted. It took many calls and time from my vacation to address the issue. The front desk personnel were more defensive than helpful. When you pay in advance through a third party, you cannot get any financial adjustment on the room. I was offered initially, remedies that were unacceptable. Eventually we came to a fairly adequate resolution.This was my third stay at this property in the last five years. Each visit was problematic. No more.

Nice with mini flaws

The hotel was beautiful, but the room was a little snug. The room service was slow and we frequently witness other guest's ... trash outside of their room door waiting for pick-up. They did provide a free upgrade to a King size bed, but the room did not have a mini fridge or a microwave. We got lost the first night out and the hotel staff did a great job directing us back!!!

The bed was very very confortable. The room was clean. All rooms have internert access for a small fee. The hotel has free ... wireless internet access in the lobby and you can access the internet in the business office for free. The staff was very professional and nice. The hotel is in the perfect location that is close to downtown Detroit. Overall, a great place to stay.

Nice staff. Service for breakfast was poor and although our room was non-smoking it smelled like smoke. Also found several ... hairs in the bathroom and shower. YUK! Stay was OK overall but we would not go back if in the area. Plenty of other good hotels nearby.

Nice, big comfortable room with a great bed. Stayed out most of the time so I didn't get a chance to really experience what ... else the hotel had to offer or it's level of customer service. Although, check-in/check-out staff and those I passed in the hallway were very friendly. Would have liked a location which offered more within walking distance, but for the package deal and wonderful room it was well worth it.

We stay at this Westin hotel every time we come to Detroit. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. This is a high end ... hotel, but not snobbish. My kids say the beds are like sleeping on a cloud!

My lady and I were only in town for a night! We arrived very late and got a great deal on this room! The only thing I didn't ... like was the fact that the hotel was booked and we couldn't get the King bed. Other than that, the staff was wonderful, the hotel was spotless and the location was great...What more can you ask for?

I think everyone at this hotel had their happy pills!! I couldn't believe how helpful the staff was... everyone kept asking ... if they could help. The rooms were so comfortable and the bed really was a dream ( I think that is what they call it) Security was excellent... you couldn't access your floor without room key. The price was the best deal I have ever had and I travel often and stay in lots of hotels. It was such a treat to have friendly staff ... I had one employee after another saying good morning or good afternoon with a Smile on their faces!!!

The hotel was very lovely! The pool and hot tub were great, breakfast was wonderful, and the lobby was nicely decorated. We ... were even in a spacious "workout room" complete with exercise gear and a DVD player! The only problem encountered was when I went to make coffee in our room. While the hotel gets points for having multiple Starbucks brand coffees and teas along with real creamers in the room, the points were deducted because someone had poked needle holes into the bottom of ALL of the coffee cups, and the stir sticks were dirty. The staff weren't necessarily rude, but they weren't that pleased to help either. I would still recommend this hotel. Just check the coffee cups BEFORE you pour anything in them, and don't expect a warm and perky welcome.
