Not a terrible hotel, but probably would not stay there again! It's the small things that count and they forgot the small ... things! For instance, a coffee maker with no coffee pot, very noisy heater, extra charges for refidgerator/microwave! Seems like they sunk lots of money into the lobby and forgot about the guest rooms! Oh, and don't eat in the hotel bar...bad service and the food was even worse!

Nice Hotel, bad internet.
Rick Nov 9, 2009
We took our son and his best friend to see the Michigan versus Perdue game. My wife and I were hoping to use the internet in ... our room but it was not working, neither was it in our son's room. I stopped by the service desk and the best that they could do was offer an 800# for a third party service to troubleshoot the internet problem. According to the third party service the problem was specific to the local network which they could not fix in time until after we would have left back home.

sngel 49707 Oct 20, 2009
When we first got there to check in the lady behind the counter was very rude to us. The hotel room was empty of normal hotel ... equipment...it didnt have a clock or pen and paper and the coffee pot was broken. We went to the hotel diner and bar for dinner and the food was terrible and the drinks were overpriced. There is a amenities fee for use of the pool and fitness room wether you use them or not. I will never stay in this hotel again.

Disaster Stay
DLC Oct 15, 2009
I called ahead to insure that the hotel could accommodate my need to have NO feathers in the room due to my allergies. I was ... told that they had no feathers in the room but a note would be made on my reservation. When I went to my room I found all the four pillows were feather pillows and the comforter was feathers. I returned to the front desk and was informed that they did not have the note on the reservation and that they did NOT have feathers but down. Either the staff was ignorant or they were lying to keep a reservation. I informed then that down is a feather. They said they would get me non-feather pillows. They came up with two small very-thick throw pillows from a couch which were totally unsuitable for sleeping. No replacement for the bed cover so I slept under sheets still filled with feather dust. I had to take multiple allergy tabs just to stay breathing. I itched the entire next day and had rashes all over. The room and bath were not clean and it was noisy as well. [...] The hotel is not equipped to deal with common issues of travelers. I recommend all travelers avoid this hotel.

We stayed 3 nights for a little getaway...the first night not so bad...hotel hall was kind of dingy..and the room could use ... some updates...the bed and bedding was nice and comfortable though...the 2nd and 3rd day...people were yelling and partying in the hall...called the front desk...they had already been down 3 times he said...and told me he would take care of it...next thing we know he was knocking at our door while the yelling people were in the hall asking about the noise complaint and if it was still a problem...could he not hear? we asked for our room to be changed and the only option he gave us was to move a couple doors down? what good would that do? not someplace i would recommend or will stay at again...

Convenient to airport, reasonably priced
Tired Oct 12, 2009
Very short stay. Got in at 10pm and left early the next morning. Hotel is convenient to the airport. Needs some updating. ... Old caulk and leaky sink in the bathroom...had to close door because the sound kept me awake. Toilet paper and kleenex were about as cheap as I have ever seen but adequate. For the money [...], it was okay. Staff was friendly but screwed up on card keys for both my room and my sister's room. Had to trudge back downstairs after a long day to get new keys.

The hotel was just about average. If your not picky then this place is ok for grabbing some sleep. The pillows were lumpy, no ... firmness and just horrible! The morning breakfast I can understand being free since there wasn't much there (bagels, juice, muffins, cereal). There are no amenties like microwave, fridge, water, just a plain room The hotel needs a facelift, but on the upside it did provide free airport shuttle, free internet and the pool was decent.

I was just there one night so didn't use many of the amenities, however, they probably had the worst "free" breakfast I've ... ever seen. It was basically some white bread you could put in a toaster, a bowl of apples and some Cheerios. Had drinks and a salad in the bar/restaurant the night before and it was adequate.

Football Fanatic Sep 22, 2009
The lobby must have been renovated recently because it makes you think that this is a five-star hotel. The rooms are ... outdated but still clean. The buffet breakfast was satisfactory, no warm items. Went to U of Michigan football game and the distance to the campus was about a half hour drive. Would stay again but eat breakfast somewhere else.

If you are heading into Detroit, make sure you are armed with as many in-depth maps as you need, and plot out your trip. I'm lucky because my husband is excellent when it comes to directions, and even he struggled. Don't end up somewhere you shouldn't be like we did. In the downtown area, freeways and streets are poorly marked and hard to find. Frustrating and potentially dangerous.
